Ronald Koeman discussion

Im not saying retain him at the end of the season, judge him on the season, if we dont finish 7th or higher we have regressed, in that case sack him.

I didnt want the clown in the first place, but I honestly see no value in sacking him mid season, unless we are still struggling for wins by Christmas.
I think that is sensible , I think that an automatic sacking if we don't finish seventh may not be the way to go, it will depend on form and results in the second half of the season.

At present there is no stand out candidate to replace KM. David Unsworth would be a huge risk and I think people like Ancelotti(even if he was interested) would regard this job as a well paid job to ease him into retirement.

It would probably cost a fortune to sack KM and a bigger one to get his replacement in.

Performances and results may change this thinking however.

Last season, Southampton finished 8th and reached the league cup final, beating Liverpool twice on the way. The manager was sacked because the football was boring. If we finish 8th and reach the league cup final and beat Liverpool twice, Koeman will get a contract extension no matter how boring the football is.

Now’s as good a time as any to stop the rot. It’ll take nothing less than spanking both Lyon and Arsenal with great performances to make me give you the benefit of the doubt.

To the people demanding he be sacked, may I ask why?

What good will sacking him do? Its his team and they are his players, surely he should be given the season to see things out?

Maybe review things at Christmas will be the plan from up above I think.

Because he's as bad at managing as Besic is at midfielding...
Sorry.

Not sorry.

Go on, I will bite.

What was he right about?

The majority of what he wrote was just general bitterness because of his Martinez man crush, one which he was way off the mark with because the man was a joke of a manager.

Koeman had a very steady and decent first season, so in truth he was wrong but would not admit it.

We have introduced too many new players possibly, have little if any pace in the side and it is widely acknowledged that we bought too many similar type players, which he is responsible for of which I will not dispute.

So he has got a few things wrong yes. But lets not lick Dave's bottom because his bitterness towards Koeman was so apparent, that at the first sign of trouble he can say "I told you so", it simply isn't the case.

I think he was right about Koeman not being up to it. Martinez had a decent first season as well but the wheels came off there as they are now for Koeman.

I'm not revelling in us being so poor but that's exactly what we are at the moment. I don't think this current plight is the first sign of trouble either. Maybe I'm wrong and he'll turn it round? Nothing would make me happier and it would also allow Ronk to make his move to Barca. (After returning us to glory of course)

As for licking @davek, that's a matter for yourself, I just want relations with my wife on occasion and when I've come home after a few beers!
