Ronald Koeman discussion

His presser today is revealing, he really doesn't know how to play things right now and he's in that awful place where everything he says can be turned against him, I don't feel any pity but he sounds like a dead man walking and there's no plan. Waiting for the transfer window would be madness on the part of the board, they can't back him. If we mess up tomorrow i reckon that will be it.

No.

I was never enthusiastic about his appointment it must be said....I could see neither rhyme nor reason in the way he was pursued so doggedly and given such an outrageous salary for a man with his CV.

But never in my wildest dreams did I think he would be this awful.
I don't follow European football, I had no idea who he'd managed or how he's gotten on, even know I only know what I know from reading his detractors on here, it isn't pretty reading from what they say.

My sole opinion on him, was how he took Southampton on from Potchetinno and not only did he better his best season, he then went and beat his own record. That's where I formed my opinion.

He did his job last year, 13th to 7th was a season in season progress only bettered by Conte going from 10th to 1st.

So more loot can be wasted!!

I've heard countless owners give votes of confidence to managers. I heard Leicesters assistant manager on 5live for an hour+ on Friday night completely oblivious to what was about to happen on Tuesday.

But I sort of agree, the sacking won't be anywhere near as soon as people are suggesting IMO, but if the form doesn't improve I can't see how he'll get as many as 14 more games (ish) until Christmas.

I have actually moved my earliest deadline.

Previously I had said Leicester away.

Now I am saying after Watford at home the following week at the earliest.

And only if we lose.

Will not be after defeat in any of the next three “unexpected win” games IMO.

We finished 11th the season before he joined us, Ian.

So he only improved us four places.

(that season didn’t end the day Bobby was fired with us in 13th place :p)

Can you imagine another 14 games of this!!!

I'd rather not!

Everton manager Ronald Koeman admits he is "maybe in crisis"

Everton manager Ronald Koeman has admitted he is "maybe in crisis" following the clb's poor start to the season.
Koeman finds himself under pressure as Everton host Arsenal at Goodison Park on Nissan Super Sunday with his side languishing in the lower reaches of the table.
Everton have won just two Premier League games this season and are 16th in the table with eight points from eight games following their 1-1 draw at Brighton on Sunday.
They needed a late Wayne Rooney penalty to salvage a draw from that game and things are no better in European competition, with the team bottom of Europa League Group E after losing 3-0 to group leaders Atalanta and drawing 2-2 with Apollon Limassol. The Toffees host Lyon at Goodison Park on Thursday night.

When asked if he agreed with recently-departed Leicester manager Craig Shakespeare that "every manager is only ever four games away from a crisis", Koeman said: "Maybe I am in the crisis.
"Everyone knows the manager's job is a really difficult job because things change really fast.
Obviously we're disappointed not to go out and win games for the fans. For one reason or another it's not happened but all we can do is keep working hard and we're desperate to get it right.

"If we can control games like we did against Brighton then we'll give ourselves more chance to get it right."

Koeman also confirmed Everton owner Farhad Moshiri and chairman Bill Kenwright had recently visited the club's Finch Farm training ground and is confident he retains their support."Yes he was here with Bill Kenwright and more people from the board because they hadn't seen the new building," he said.

"You speak about football of course. There wasn't really a message. They are behind the team and the manager. In football that's a nice thing but in football it's all about results.

"Until now it's total support from the board, yes."

Not, that was a rough guess. But by a week tomorrow we could be out of two of the three cups and in the relegation zone. He'd be very uncomfortable it that happens. I'm desperate for him to win all three.

I was listening to the Echo podcast earlier and Osman was on talking about moment that shaped seasons in his time, especially seasons we started slowly. Things like the Neville tackle on Ronaldo and going away to Bolton and winning with a last minute winner the following Wednesday. Problem is we have no character and seemingly no spirit.

That's just bollocks. Brighton had us on the ropes a few times, a better team would've scored more than once.

And they will...that's why 87% of us want him out.
Correct, Keane had 3 goal line clearences. We did nothing going forward. Couple of pot shots from Gana and what should've been a pen for Sigurdsson when he was pulled back. We looked a touch more dangerous when Mirallas came on.
