He appears to be unwitting but I've come to the conclusion he is a smart cookie and as previously stated is able to knock most of his subjects off guard by his simple nerdy presentation, he is now experienced to recognise this art form and it's like watching a genius at work, I've always liked him and I think he was a step ahead of most when it came to Saville, although it was uncomfortable viewing he gave us a previously unseen insight into the makeup of the beast which we now know caused such misery to many.

He gets away with asking questions that most people would get a slap for. He took the piss out of those Baptist church nutters and they didn't have a clue.

He did the same when he went to Vegas. The fellas he was with were laughing at him at one point not realising that the joke was on them

I think so too, and it was obvious on his return documentary that he sensed what Savile was and regretted not doing something more. It felt like he got very close to the truth, but was manipulated by Savile to the point where he didn't want to believe the rumours and signs, a pretty common phenomenon when it comes to these kinds of cases

Yeah, v interesting episode that. Daniels was strange but him and Debbie appeared to have a very strong, albeit slightly mental, relationship

They just came across as completely paranoid, which makes you wonder why they agreed to do it in the first place.

They never let their guard down once and his programmes are based on disarming the subject, no matter how mad or bad they are.

It was the same when he did Saville, although Saville came across as sinister ( well founded ), rather than paranoid.

You could almost feel the slow realisation that Saville was a monster and it threw him, as it would with any normal person.

The podcast he did with Joe Rogan was brilliant, Rogan just gets absolutely played by him and it’s a fantastic listen/watch.

But their guarded nature was, in itself, very revealing. I suspect Louis enjoys trying to get through that level of resistance, even if he eventually fails

Dooley is condescending to the documentary subjects and never draws out even the slightest of insights into complex subjects. It's painful to watch, she's not anywhere near Theroux's level.

Dooley is a cringebag! clueless on all the subjects, she gets all teary and it makes her look worse.
