Ronald Koeman discussion

The board put up with Martinez's crap performances for more than twelve months before getting rid of him. Point taken though Groucho, that was pre-Moshiri, and we saw how swiftly RM was removed once Moshiri arrived.
The reason it took so long to remove RM was because Kenwright and Kenwright alone wanted to be loyal to him. Jon Wood wanted rid after the derby and so did a lot of the board inc. Moshiri.

This isn’t a BK rant btw. Remember when he and FM went to see the sit-in protest? He lasted one more game. Sit in again lads, please!!!!

What I’m saying is, Unsworth in!!!! Even if just temporary, he’d get us on the right track and make us an attractive prospect for a top top proven guy.

I want RK gone before lunch time but absolutely do not want Unsworth to replace him. Caretaker for the brief interim then fine. Long term, no way. That would be madness.

Does feel like a head over heart decision re Unsworth. Would be great to see him as manager for all the idealist reasons, he's an Evertonian, knows the place inside out, knows the players etc., but his profile just isn't there (yet) for us to attract the sort of quality players we need.

He's already convinced our owner that any game against the top 4/6 is an expected defeat, today he's probably convincing him that any draw away from home this week is a decent result, that's a dangerously slippery slope.

If Everton had any sense of ambition whatsoever he wouldn't see today out.

The January transfer window won't change things.

Bringing in a striker and another defender won't change the fact he continues to play with 2 DMs who can't attack, barely no width and a tempo that is so slow I'm amazed opposition players have not died of boredom.

A loss against Lyon and Chelsea will mean we're out of 2 cup competitions at early stages once again. Player confidence will be completely destroyed and that will effect league form even more.

I don't want another Martinez situation were it's a wait and hope because at this point in the season it will just make things worse.

In a nutshell for me. Obvious folly for not buying a striker as a focal point. But also, should have got a solid centre half along side Keane (and one who can run too). That way, only one of Gueye and Schneiderlin needed (competing for the spot). Frees up a spot for a midfielder who can actually drive forward through the middle and commit the opposition. Its not rocket science. So in that regard Koeman is responsible (set up wise).
Only against the top sides can I see his current thinking.

As much as I’m becoming more & more disillusioned with Koeman and his persistence of ignoring pace & utilising players out of position, I’m willing to give him one more transfer window.

Bolasie & Coleman were huge blows & it’s clear for whatever reason, he was let down by Walsh & the Board when it came to replacing Lukaku.

He’s going to need another winger as Mirallas is sure to be shown the exit door & Lennon’s contract is approaching its end. Barkley will leave, I’ve no doubt about that & Niasse has no long term Everton future.

Centre Forward, Central Defender & a Winger are absolute must buys.

We have a huge week coming up, I really hope he comes through it ......

That said, he doesn’t give out a vibe that he gets Everton nor appreciates our standing within the game. I don’t like that about him.

I can’t believe the man still has a job. The season is still salvageable if the club act now. They made the mistake last time with Martinez, they delayed the inevitable which IMO cost us the semi final against United.
Thursday is a must win game, lose it and that’s Europe over with. Like with the last manager it’s looking like a matter of time now for RK so why put off it off? Damage limitation.

Martinez's first season bought him a lot of breathing space, esp pre Moshiri. Moonface doesn't have that goodwill in the bank. He needs to go. He's reshaped a good squad into something that's unbalanced and he has shown he is tactically terrible. Not to mention he keeps pissing off our best players
