..it is a bit sad that the hierarchy are ‘expecting’ us to get beat in certain games and even worst that Koeman includes Burnley on the list. Saying that, it’s not just the defeats, it’s the manner of the defeats.
...about Moshiri’s comment that the Burnley defeat was the only unexpected one. Koeman looked a bit narked, said Burnley had won at Chelsea away and mentioned a few other good results they’d had.
He's looking more and more like Phil Mitchell everyday...
What is it about the Everton job that accellerates the aging process?
Martinez visibly aged about 10 years in his time here.
Sadly he is now.
The end is nigh.
Probably Monday.
Like his football, it put me to sleep - quite literally, I've just had a sleep.
He's done. Checked out mentally and just waiting for it now. Which is awful because the players will know that too and we could be in for a hiding.

The issue here is no decision (you would hope) to replace a manager is ever taken on the basis of one result. The result against Brighton should not be the only deciding factor in whether Koeman stays or not. In recent years van Gaal got sacked after winning the FA Cup, and Rodgers lost his job after a 1-1 derby draw at Goodison. Neither of these things are bad results, but clearly overall the owners and board members of these clubs had not been happy for a prolonged period of time and had been waiting to pull the trigger. Most probably after finally securing a better replacement- perhaps that option isn't open to us right now?
It's unlikely a win would see Koeman lose his job, but for arguments sake let's say we win 1-0 with a deflected OG in the 90th minute following another dire performance- he should still be under a serious amount of pressure and if he's in line for the chop it shouldn't save him. If we were bottom of the league as you depict in your scenario then we as fans should be desperate for any and all wins, and simultaneously it's the board who should be being questioned, not the manager, as to why they think this is acceptable.
What is worrying on that front is what you refer to yourself and that is our owner and board's apparent mindset that some losses are "expected" and that's just how it is for "little old Everton". That mentality is a cancerous tumour that needs to be cut out from the club at all levels.
Sadly agree. Comments coming out of the club are embarrassing. can only imagine what message is been feed to the players. Time for the players to stand up and go out and win as an 11 the weekend coz I don't believe the manager has got their backing with the excuses been trotted outI completely agree with that. I tried to make the point when the statement came out that as fans, why should we care about these losses if no-one at the club cares? I wrote more than that but you get the picture. This is Everton football club now, wether us fans like it or not, the public persona is a small time club
