Ronald Koeman discussion

Last season we were awful till December then switched things up and were pretty class for the most part. Same happened season before with his Southampton team. Think it's pretty weird to suggest you know it couldn't possibly change again.
Isn't that it in a nutshell? We weren't pretty class as we never improved on the 7th position in the league despite having opportunity to do so. The fact we spent so long to get a working system meant the season was over so quickly. Look at this season and the same thing is happening again, instead of having points on the board as a starting point like Burnley have for example, we are floundering looking for a system that should already be in place after a whole season.

And Southampton is a good example as well as if they had a better start the year Leicester won the league they would have finished top 4 based on their final points total.

Basically the point is, spending so much time forming a winning team is basically us getting nowhere every season and hoping for a cup win. We should be starting day one of the season with a team, a system and not waiting until close to Christmas before we finally start playing. Koeman has track record of it both here and down south, it isn't good enough for us.

The fear I have is that he does have a preferred system and wanted a CF, CB, and a new winger to round it out. When he didn't get those things and he's had to adjust, he's not shown an ability to do so. His last lineup was shocking in terms of the lack of change. If he trots out the same BS on Sunday, think it just proves unequivocally that he's lost the plot.

It was quite staggering how unprepared we seemed to be for the new season, with regards to the team formation and who played where.

I appreciate that a lot of new players needed to be bedded in, big surely he'd factor this into training and preparation, plus we got all of them bar Siggy in early doors.

We were used to seeing them come back unfit under Martinez, but at least you could see the semblance of a team there.

As many have said before, it just appears that he threw a load of team numbers up in the air and that was the team.

Maybe it's just his demeanour, but he just doesn't look arsed either way.

"My prediction is that Everton, because of all the early competitive matches they have before everyone else, will come flying out of the gates and then weaken as the season goes on due to fatigue".

That was some pundit with their prediction of the club. Would make sense except that it's like they went on a bender 2 hours before the season started, fell down 6 times before the starting gate and now have gone to sleep.

It's been said many times by experts and fans alike but we have no identify on the pitch. We have the game this Sunday and We have no idea what the team will be or the system. How are we expected to progress and build if the manager doesn't know? How are the players meant to form a winning team if instructions change every week? How do we form a partnership of sorts up front if it changes all the time? Where is lewen this week for example. How do we form a defensive that works as a unit if it changes every game? We need 3 players to play together , 5 with the wing backs. Every time it changes they have to 're learn how each other play together. The midfield do the same role essentially so without defined roles in the middle how is everyone else meant to fall in line with them? Gueye is a holding midfielder yet attacks, so what is klassen siggurdson Rooney all meant to be doing? Sigg out wide and the rest cover the space making them pointless once we hit the edge of the box.

In terms of koeman, this arsed demeanour you mention strikes me rather different. His comments both last and this season just sound like he thinks his tactics work and the players aren't doing them right. So come next game he does it again and again until the players learn how to make them work rather than the tactics themselves working. When it completely changes season to season then we are essentially starting from the beginning. Compare us to United as a good example, they had a system and a way to play and they just went out and bought players to improve that system. Matic freed up the attacking players, lukaku gave them a focal point that they lost, the centre half stabilised the defence, then they were done. All the players know their roles and what to do and suddenly the 6th best team in the league is fighting for 1st. We finished 1 place behind them and is there any difference in us this season to a promoted side trying to find a successful way of getting points on the board to stay up?

The important words in my post were THE BIGGER PICTURE being an Everton surporter of course I don't want us to lose, but if for example Moshiri came out and said if Koeman loses the next 2 his gone, IMO it would be worth them 2 defeats to get him gone. Then whoever came in I'd want to win every game, I've followed Everton since 1988 but lately I've started to fall out of love with the team, everything seems wrong Koeman has no love for Everton he just come over very dull and uninterested, Everton just seems an un happy team at the moment and i think there's more to that than just losing. Get him gone and it will cheer the whole place up.

I wouldn’t waste my time. He clearly can’t understand full sentences.

I am an Evertonian, but I have just felt he does not inspire confidence in players or fans? You try and support but it is difficult when you haven't the right man at the helm? Given my age, the next appointment will probably see me out! So hopefully will bring success!

I’m expecting him to bring Lookman in, at centre half, with Siggy in goal and Pickford up front.......I just don’t get it anymore......

One has to ask in which case why did he sign what we ended up with? Only Keane seems to fit in that plan.

Anyone pointed out yet that our last 3 managers could all be international managers?

In fact

Martinez - Belgium
Scotland - moyes
Holland - koeman?
Scotland again - smith
