Ronald Koeman discussion

I think he's too far gone and the inevitable is being delayed.

Not saying I'd sack him right now myself - who do we replace him with? No sarky responses of Big Sam please, and I'm aware Unsworth appears to be a big talent but is there any other current candidate?

No good sacking him with no adequate replacement, and I'd be reluctant to plunge Unsworth in at the deep end, right now - let's hope he gets a good stab at it in the future though.

This could well be the perfect time and context for Unsworth. If he was given the rest of the season, rather than appointed permanently, he'd have a fixed period to prove his worth, to those both within and outside the club. He wouldn't have the pressure of bringing in players, or only in January anyway, and he could focus on coaching and setting up the team. Unless there's an outstanding candidate available right now, who's ready and willing to come in, it makes sense (to me, at least) to give it to someone who has the qualities Unsworth possesses, not to mention knowledge of the club and playing staff. He's about the age where he must be thinking of managing a first team. While the standard line is he needs experience elsewhere before returning for the top job, some managers are made for certain clubs, and delaying only harms their chances.

Good point well made

He would have to spend big money in January though mate.
Everyone knows we need a striker and the asking price will be like what we got for Lukaku.
Unsworth would have to be trusted with the funds as Walsh simply doesn't deliver and should be sacked.

My heart says... I hope to god Ronny turns this around and shows you all up for what you are you lily livered gang of treacherous Wools.

My heads says... We're pretty gash and he only has himself to blame really, as he was the one who swapped Man Utd Lukaku for Rooney and spunked the rest on 9 unproven premier league players who ergo look like they've never played together in their lives.

And my balls are telling me that.... even if he does stay for few years yet we won't win a thing with him anyway cos we sell our best players all the time and have a low net spend and he's not capable of breaking into the top 4 without massive funds at his disposal.

Tuchel is a joker who will be exposed within months of getting his next gig

Admitedly I am not Thomas Tuchel's biggest fan, but he is clearly not a joker or a fraud or a poor coach.
He's show enough over the last few years on the pitch to prove he's a good coach. Although who knows if he even wants to coach in the premier league, I don't think I have read much to suggest he does.

Sorry mate, his surrender at Anfield was enough for me to never want him anywhere near the Everton job.

Think that's a little harsh on him. He might not play half a team of them like some of us would like but he still plays them far more than your average PL manager.

I think they mean more why is someone like Davies constantly out of favour to the likes of Schneiderlin, Gueye and Klassen when he's made a good impact whenver he's palyed, was terrific last term and the three aforementioned players have been rubbish?

Also, why hasn't Lookman been given a chance at all after spending 11 mil on him and with the team desperately crying out for both width and pace?

And lastly, why isn't Kenny been given a look in when almost every attack we've ever had on our right hand side has broken down with Martina?

It's not a question of giving youth a chance, it's why isn't he giving these other players a chance when those ahead of them in the pecking order have constantly under-performed?

that wasn't one of my favourite moments either to be honest :p He's just a hell of a lot better coach than a lot of the names I see mentioned when the talk comes up about replacing a current manager. So much 'jobs for the boys' I think the phrase is, in the premier league with English or British coaches, and I always see some frightening names come up!

Safe to say he'll be in charge for our next fixture at least. I do hope he can turn it around but looks unlikely. If we were to lose to Brighton I'd hope the club put someone else capable in charge (possibly Unsworth & Royle til the season is out) against Lyon, we've still a chance to get through the groups like and have a stab at a European trophy.

+1 ;) think that is the best way to go. I think he's got what it takes, still remember Mark Hughes trying every trick he knew to get the better of a young player called David Unsworth in the FA Cup final. Didn't work. Winner. Let's find out if he can step up because Koeman is draining the life out of Everton.

Definitely, we messed about in Roberto's last season when we threw away the chance of winning the FA cup by not sacking him before the semi-final. We should not just casually throw away the chance of the Europa by keeping Koeman when he's a dead man walking.
