Ronald Koeman discussion

Gotta start winning somewhere and doesn't matter how scrappy they are. Performances follow wins
I agree in the general respect. I just don't have any faith right now that it will apply to us without a real upturn in form. If that comes then it's always nice winning games.

Hope this Mazzarri talk is b0llocks.

Could be club spin to temper the pressure on Koeman??

I want Koeman gone ASAP. Don’t care if we win the next 3 by 4-0. Just want him gone. I’d hope we can do better than this fella though!

This international break has gone on for too long. I am starting to feel sympathetic to Koeman’s plight.

Too many new players to settle in at one time. But probably necessary to do to get rid of some of the dross at the club – a gamble on a short sharp shock rather than a couple of years of purgatory has not paid off (yet?).

Some players that were key to get in have not been bought such as striker for example. Some players that should have been got shot off have not left such as McCarthy. Some injuries have muddied the picture, but they should have been compensated for.

Add in some sky-high expectations and difficult league fixtures and no shows in Europe and he is a dead man walking in a lot of people’s eyes.

What can he do to get us out of this? I don’t know. I hope he does though. Nothing would make me happier than him turning it around. But I keep getting the feeling from his time here and at Southampton that he sorts stuff out after the team and tactics have already led him into trouble. A more proactive and creative manager would avoid this. But then again, show me a manager who never had a problem and I’ll concede that one exists.

The baggage that Koeman is attaching to himself now at Everton is getting too big to ignore. He could be getting the taxi treatment very soon if he doesn’t sort this out. And even if he does, we have long memories and the sentiment against him will rise again very easily.

If it wasn’t for his wage and pay-off, alongside his rep as a player that should ensure his standing in the world game, I’d be sorry for him. Everton was probably his big chance to jump to the elite. I don’t see it happening for him or us under him. I hope the door doesn’t hit him on the way out. I hope that our board gets lucky on the next appointment whenever it happens.

Few of our attacking players were sound during the International Break. Sigurdsson and Vlasic bagging a few goals, and Calvert Lewin played well for England by all accounts. No doubt they'll go back to their garbage selves on the Weekend under the Management of this balloon headed melt.

Some good mitigating points there, however at no point has he accepted any responsibility at all for the mess that the club now finds itself in, instead choosing to point the fingers at everyone and anything, except himself.

As a result of this he's alienated himself from a large section of the fan base and unless he somehow turns all this around incredibly quickly he's finished. ( as is his so next job at Barcelona, which has already been flagged in the Spanish press )

These players and managers with an eye on a greater prize more oft than not take their eye of the real priority - doing their best at their current club. If they did that and worked on improving themselves, then they would give themselves the best chance of competing at the highest level either at the likes of Barcelona, or dare I say the clubs they are currently with.

Also, I agree with the point that he doesn't seem to have shouldered any of the blame. A good manager in any business, takes the flak and spreads out the praise. I don't see the flak taking from Ronald, and a few players have taken the brunt of it. I don't know how he is as a man manager, but it appears from my view in the cheap seats that he ain't much cop at it.

Sorry to be so pessimistic but my feeling is we will lose against Brighton, Lyon and Arsenal and then Koeman will get the sack.

I just wish he'd go sooner before we find ourselves in the bottom 3.

I hope win on Saturday and he proves me wrong. I just don't think he can turn this round under the circumstances.

I can guarantee we wont win on Saturday! LOL

Or lose, or draw for that matter

I would be happy if we were losing and playing badly but there was some idea or purpose in our play - like we were trying something new, or moving in a particular direction, or trying some tactics which are not yet working, but will probably work in a couple of months. It's just that there's no purpose.
Ronald Koeman seems authoritarian in a Fergie kind of way, or like he's a wannabe Fergie, but in an era where he can't get to work, or that he's just not that good. He seems to just be black and white in his decisions, and that's why Barkley, Mirallas, Lookman - flare players with less to offer elsewhere - don't get a look in - but then again, Schneiderlin, Williams, Martina - his 'favourites' are not exactly hard working or athletic that they must be selected.
With Moyes, we knew we were getting workhorse type players who would just run around and fight, and our tactic would be pacy counter attacks, physical battles and set pieces
WIth Martinez, we were trying to be Barcelona but didn't get the quality, speed or support from players to match.
What's the story here?
