Ronald Koeman discussion

Sadly we need to accept that we are now facing a few years of just treading water till the stadium is built.

We will probably sack Koeman before the year is out and appoint Unsworth till the end of the season, he will get us to around 12-14th in the League then appointed full time manager for a season or 3 where we will bob around in 15th or 16th till the stadium is built.

But its ok, cos he will play all our League Two standard youngsters and hes a proper blue.

Do you really really think this?

My chief concern is his relationship skills, strikes me that he's a bit black and white and that maybe we have disaffected a few along the way. I'd still give him till Xmas but that's it for me, bring in Benitez.

My concern is that we win at the weekend.

For a little bit of context, unless koeman has suddenly got a master plan that works for us, then i can see rallying calls all week after the international how we have to turn it around, season starts now etc bigging up the Brighton game. Then we go and win it, because individually at least we are so much better than them. But then over the next 3 weeks lose to Lyon Chelsea and arsenal to really put us back down again.

Except that Brighton result will give the club false hope in believing koeman is turning it around and those games are 'expected losses , seeing as though that is how we judge the team now. So before we know it we are stuck in the bottom 6, our of 2 competitions and clinging into false hope still as we were 2 seasons ago.

That isn't me saying I don't want us to win, I do but win with substance. Win and perform like a team for once with real tactics and real ideas. Because scraping a 1-0 against Brighton and looking terrible still serves us nothing but a twisted view on the current situation. I'd take 30 terrible wins sure in a season , but these terrible performances aren't winning us games.
Teams on a bad run with struggling confidence just don't do wins with substance though. They grind out a result and then gradually build on it over the coming games. Personally I would sack him now and a few wins aren't going to change my mind on the guy because I just can't see him getting us into the top 4 within his current contract and I couldn't see him challenging for the League no matter how long he is here. Therefore, to me, there's no point keeping him for another 18 months so i would like to see him go sooner rather than later. There's enough evidence, based on his time here and his past managerial career for anyone to take a judgement on the guy irrespective of how the next few games go. If we are going to live up to our motto then quite simply for me he has to go.

Like it has been mentioned before... koeman won't be here regardless at the end of best season... I can't see him getting top 4 or a cup etc in that time... so bite the bullet and change him out now... if we wait the next manager will have a squad over stocked in midfield and a defence that needs replacing ... I can also see our younger players going backwards if he's left in charge... lookman, kenny etc

Well actually a win is a win and is 3 points and added confidence. You don't get anywhere by playing well and losing or drawing.

Where was the confidence after Bournemoth though? Exactly what koeman said we were lacking after that game, if the players don't believe in the manager or believe they can win then 3 points doesn't do that. 3 or 4 of them in a row does yes, just not a scrappy win against a team who most of the team will believe they should be getting as it's Brighton.

Gotta start winning somewhere and doesn't matter how scrappy they are. Performances follow wins
