Ronald Koeman discussion

Thats not the conclusion I would come to myself. Kendall MK3 was definitely past his peak and Koeman, in my opinion, has never been a good manager. You can bring in whole new teams of players, Emery did it for 3 seasons at Sevilla & won Europa, but you need the following: a manager who knows exactly how he wants to play & can communicate that, the right players to execute the plan. In my opinion we have neither the players or the manager to do this.

Sure.

I am just going by our experience here at Everton and it has not been good.

And don’t forget, Howard Mk.1 had as little success doing it as Howard Mk 3.

It was the players he gradually worked into the team around 1982 and 1983 which gave the team the boost.

And I also think that for every Emery at Sevilla story, there are probably dozens of examples of the opposite occurring.

No..I'm not happy with everything at all, and I haven't said as much. What I am saying is that at this point the board will not be too unhappy with RK, but that they will not give him forever. There always is a point of no return, but we are not at it yet.
At what point will we be at it, as this is the worst set of performances I have seen from an Everton team.
Even if we were winning I am not sure people would put up with this stale and Wimbledon type football

I don't think the fan base would, they are restless now.
Indeed they are, but why should that concern the board? It hasn't for the last 30 years has it? Survival in the prem has become the ambition of 14 clubs apart from the so called top 6, three of the latter, rs, spuds, and the arse who imo won't win it anyway. Only if we are embroiled in a relegation struggle sooner rather than later will a sacking take place...and then of course the question arises....who takes over to magically transform our season? But that is for another thread...:(:(

I agree it's difficult but it can be done, needs a very good manager and a good system for signing players. We appear to have neither! On a much smaller scale Unsworth has done this at U23 level. Bottom line it wouldn't be your first choice way of doing things but it's the way Koeman has chosen to go. It's made all the worse because no one can see what he's trying to achieve (including the players),his bizarre signings & his refusal to try and integrate the promising U23 players. In short a total cock up (n)

Big difference is for the last 10-15yrs we have had little or no money, this fella has had around 24ml at his disposal so expectations should be us at least in closing the gap on the top 6.
The dismay is not just about league placing it is around the style of football we play and RK stubbornness.
The board have given him money, it hasn't been spent very well...

Doesnt it bother you guys that his careless attitude is all too visible. He's heart just Doesnt seem to be there...i think players sense that too. Big part of our problems.

The Andy Gray signing was the catalyst......and I was like WTF when Howard signed him lol
I always thought the catalyst was the promotion of Colin Harvey. I think the truth is,whatever or wherever we attribute the catalyst or turning point to , the most necessary ingredient was the time to succeed. When it mattered, for whatever reason, the board had patience when a large portion of the fans had run out of it.(myself included)

Let's be honest here, our rapid rise that period caught everybody by surprise.
