Quite inconsequential but I remember being on the game at home vs Newcastle. Absolutely battered them and I mean DESTROYED them.

So sad that the wheels came off.

I was happy with Koeman after some persuasion but i do fear that he has ripped the soul from the attacking threat we used to possess.

Yeh, I was at that game too.

Missed the first goal as we arrived 5 mins late, and then I went to the bog when Rom scored his second!

In fairness, Martinez lost that attacking edge after that West Ham game as well. It certainly came back - at home, at least - in the second half of last season.

But two of the key players in it in Ross and Rom aren't playing here anymore for whatever reason, and we certainly haven't found a new way to play yet.

We lost that and then fell apart by either drawing or losing the next two games IIRC?

Or, we may have beaten Man Utd in the next game but by then Arsenal had gone ahead. Something like that.

We scored two own goals and got beat by a Southampton team with nothing to play for.

Whilst I totally agree with you about it is not cool to want to see EFC beaten in order to force a manager out, if for no better reason than there is no guarantee the next bugger will do any better ergo that defeat will only add to our predicament, the Howard Kendall comparison is not really relevant.

Because the opposite side of that coin was sticking with Mike Walker and "giving him the time to turn it round".

Would you have wanted to stick with Mike Walker in the belief that "one small turn of events" might have turned things round for him?

No?

Thought not.

Oh....and BTW.

Howard only lasted one season on his third and final stint in the Goodison hot seat.

So even being Howard Kendall did not keep Howard in the job when the crunch came.

I had the impression at the time that as soon as we got into a qualifying position points wise that the top 4 just raised the bar to stop us. We would have had to get 80 points thst year which most seasons has us in a title race let alone a 4th place.

I can't remember when the 2-0 at Southampton with Alcaraz and Coleman OG's pretty much reached peak Everton bottle. But it was around that time.

And you know what....I always say it was an Act of God which stopped us making the CL that season.

Palace were in dreadful for when they came to town in January/February.

But just as my wife had dropped me by on Walton Vale and was out of sight, I heard the blooming match was postponed due to a storm which blew up that day :rant:

And to think I once believed Jesus Christ was an Evertonian :(

I’m not defining anything mate, you’re the one who responded to an open post trying to justify your position. Deep down, if we got beat over the next 4 games and you knew it would lead to a sacking, you’d happily accept that.

And excuse me, but my Kendall getting patience, does that equate to the 13k attendance and leaflets being handed out demanding his head?

I think it was 2-0 after about five minutes and all.

Though I seem to recall we battered them in the second half and had one goal chalked off unjustly and Del was denied a stone cold penno.

Indeed it was. I'd literally just got to my seat to see Alcaraz go full Martinez on us all. Absolute clown. It was all a but mad that day really. He played Deulofeu despite his mentor at Barca just passing away and he never looked into it.

Wouldnt say we battered them second half but we were a but better. Osman if i recall had the pen denied. Looked like one from where I was but I think MOTD proved otherwise.

Was all probably Tim Howard's fault anyway.

I remember now...we did not have a goal chalked off but Del was put clean through and was onside, bearing down with only the goalie to beat and the lineman raised his flag :rant:
