Usmanov

I find it sad and puzzling that Billy Liar is still around. He is however one shrewd player able to play the True Blue supporter line while at the same time getting away from the fact that he has never put a penny piece into EFC. In terms of trophies he is the worst Chairman in the club's entire history.

If the Fat Russian decides to join in the wonderful investment opportunity that EFC offers and pays off Mr. Kenright then I will celebrate.

You bought a distressed asset at a knock-down price, Billy Boy, and had the patience to wait, bull-[Poor language removed] around, mug the fans, and wait.

How much compared to what he paid for moshiris ?

He paid 200m for Moshiri shares mate, which would value what usmanov owns now at 400m so 125m less than the kroenke offer, given that everyone commented that at the time he paid moshiri a very generous amount for the current worth of his stake, I dont see how people are now trying to make out kroenke offer is lowball

Although I don't agree with the extent of The Esk's refusal to entertain Usmanov coming on board, he does make a valid point about what we have seen so far from Moshiri, e.g. the Chinese overdraft facility etc, being quite "small fry" and not really indicative of a super rich man joining the ranks any time soon.

Still hope he's wrong though.
Is having a 60 million overdraft facility on one of your assets so that your own wealth and other assets aren't affected really small fry? It could facilitate player movement and so on, so a good thing as long as used sparingly and sensibly.

If he was using this as long term credit, then I agree, but seeing as he has paid off the loans with more punative interest and took it as debt to himself, then I don't think he would do this.

As for it being part of a medium or long term plan involving Usmanov, Chinese investments, who-know-whats? If I knew that I'd probably be working on getting my first billion and not my first thousand.:)

I don't get the argument that he was just an accountant. Has it occurred to people that a) he might have been rewarded because he was a major cause of Usmanov's success over the years, and b) smart businessmen employ smarter businessmen around them - we now have one of these oh and c) an accountant of a Russian oligarch is not your local chap in an office off the High St. He is a major player in high finance. Just a pointless argument.

I would be amazed if this comes off, based on Usmanovs behaviour at Arsenal, I would say he would only come to Everton if he could have a controlling stake in the club. Presumably Moshiri left Arsenal for the same reason. Throw Bill Kenwright into the mix and it just seems more unlikely.

I would imagine if Usmanov sells up at Arsenal, he will move to a club where he can own 51% and do what he likes

Moshiri owns 49.9% of Everton, there's nothing stopping Usmanov attempting to buy the 51.1% that others hold at the Club.
