Ronald Koeman discussion

I never was convinced about Koeman from word go, he did improve strangely last season when Gueye was away and played Davies, started buying decent players but has no idea how to play them together. We actually look better when some are taken out and use players who were here last season but I just feel he's not right for us. Just for the record I'd give Unsworth the caretaker role untill the new year then go from there. If that was the news in the morning Koeman goes replaced by Unsworth I'd be over the moon.

I never particularly wanted Koeman either but he's here now and did well last year to get us out of the Martinez malaise. Unsworth could come in and be revelation but he could easily be a complete disaster.

Stick with Koeman for the time being. Let him solve the problems (and there are many of them).

He's got one game experience mate one game it's to big a gamble.
Yes your right he hasn't got the experience, but I would get Joe Royle to help him along, the players IMO would relate much better with them, I just feel there's a distance between the players and Koeman I would imagine if a player want to discuss how to try and change thing, he takes no notice and just does it his way.

By turn it around do you mean avoid relegation? Can't see us finishing anywhere near top 7 this season which is ultimately a huge step backwards from last season.
We went through a similar sequence last year and finished about 10 points ahead of 8th.
I think we will finish 7th this season. Which is about right.

It really wouldn't take much. Did you honestly rate Burnley as a great side today? That's what we'd be up against for our 7th place trophy if we clicked into gear. Right now we're 5 points behind them...

He'll turn it around. We need some perspective of where we are at, what the summer sought to achieve and the run of fixtures we've had.

International break has come at the perfect time. Get the players away with their countries and hopefully regain some confidence.

He's making mistakes at the moment but I imagine it's difficult to re-energise a squad where there are few partnerships, partly because of the influx of new players.

I'd like to see him make some changes, particularly Schneiderlin and Williams but at the same time, I understand when we are in a moment like this, having a back four where only the LB has any real top flight experience in a team expected to have possession.

I know we all think a back five of Pick, Kenny, Holgate, Keane and Baines is a good idea but it borders on suicide.

We will recover, have a bit of faith

Im sure we'll recover and possibly end up 7th or 8th.But is Koeman the man to win us trophies and help us compete for a Champions League place? For all the money we spent in the summer we seem to be further off the top four than ever. Our form at the moment goes way beyond new players settling into the side imo.

How could it be any worse than what we've gone with recently though? 0-3 v Spurs, 0-3 at Atalanta, 0-4 at Man United, conceded 2 against Limassol at home and 0-1 today.

I think that type of attitude is where Koeman is going wrong. He's claiming that the 'men' will drag us out of this and yet they haven't. He went with the 'men' at Old Trafford and we got hammered 0-4.
Well simply, we would have still lost but potentially more heavily and at the same time destroying perhaps beyond repair the progression of our young players.
It could be alot worse.

Moshiri is hardly going to come out and wash his laundry to the media so would take what was said with a pinch of salt. Of course he will say he supports him but at the end of the day, billionaire's are only interested in one thing and that is making more money and becoming even richer and if he thinks he needs to change things to make that happen, then he will do it without even blinking and there certainly wont be any chit chats with the media about it prior to it.

RK will be gone if the performances dont improve very soon. Its a nap.

There is something off but koeman still will get the time to fix it. If unsworth came in and was crap then what? He would be then getting all kinds
Of abuse.

I do think we are in a better place to attract then when El Fraudio left, better squad, owner willing to spend, lets not rule out a good named manager just yet.
Also all is not lost on this season but if this rot carries on another month we could be out of the 2 cups and looking like a long shot for the Magnificent Seventh

I don't think our form does go much beyond that. We are playing like a team full of players who have never played together. The reason: because they haven't.

You're right about whether he's going to win us trophies though. I doubt that as well. Do bare in mind though, for all the money he spent in the summer we lost the one world class player in our squad who scored goals and won us games. This player wasn't replaced.

Even had we got Giroud, which is seen as the final piece we missed in the summer, do you think 4th would have been obtainable? I don't. I don't think 140m gets anywhere near when you consider the years of spending at those clubs above us.
That money was never meant to have us competing. It was meant to bridge the gap. All Moshiri wants this season is 6th. Hardly reeks of a chairman thinking his investment has even touched the sides.
