Ronald Koeman discussion

I'm at a loss as to what's happened.

We finished in the bottom half in consecutive seasons under Roberto, but last season it looked like we'd turned a corner.

And Koeman has never finished lower than 7th in the Premier League.

He'll turn it around. We need some perspective of where we are at, what the summer sought to achieve and the run of fixtures we've had.

International break has come at the perfect time. Get the players away with their countries and hopefully regain some confidence.

He's making mistakes at the moment but I imagine it's difficult to re-energise a squad where there are few partnerships, partly because of the influx of new players.

I'd like to see him make some changes, particularly Schneiderlin and Williams but at the same time, I understand when we are in a moment like this, having a back four where only the LB has any real top flight experience in a team expected to have possession.

I know we all think a back five of Pick, Kenny, Holgate, Keane and Baines is a good idea but it borders on suicide.

We will recover, have a bit of faith

Firstly Mirallas how ever bad we are always tries unlike most at the moment that just stand around, second Niasse was our only real threat today his touches were OK, you've just got sucked in to the early Niasse hate, he isn't that bad and a sight better than Sandro. Lastly yes Barkley might just go but turning down a move to Chelsea, Koeman gone by January he might just rethink, IMO he hates Koeman he was Koemans scape goat last season when things were bad. But regardless Everton will be better off without Koeman, I have no doubt about that.

Mirallas is spent and has been for a while. I love the lad but he's lost his sharpness/desire. Niasse can come on for the last 20 minutes in games when we need a goal, anything more than that and he's going to put in performances like today.

You say with such authority that we'd be better off without Koeman yet have no idea who will replace him. Seems a bit odd to me. Especially since we're 7 games into a season with a completely new side.

I can see how badly we're playing. I'm sure Koeman can as well but sometimes you've just got to be patient and wait for things to turn around.

With regards to the back line he can't win because we have so many players who are past it and capable of making mistakes that'll cost us the game. You can definitely blame him for not signing replacements in the summer, but in terms of team selection now I'll shudder at whatever back 4 he selects.

It's like every player at the min is void on confidence aswell they just all panic when they have the ball
