Ronald Koeman discussion

Nowhere near ready to call for Koeman's head. I'm expecting defeat at United, but then we have a much better run of fixtures.
Our decent season last year was all about beating everyone below the top 6. I would hope and expect we get straight back to that after Utd.
If - and only if - we start not winning those games too, then I think RK will be in big trouble.

FWIW, in his second season at Southampton, RK went through an horrendous run of results - something like one win in 15. But he found a solution and the team went boss for the last third of the season and ended up 6th.

Clearly he needs to pull his finger out though - and he's acknowledged himself that the blame lies at his door.
So - let's see you fix it please Ron.

Close to 50 years old and seen a few great Everton teams and many piss poor Everton teams. This team is very close to some of the poorest teams I've witnessed. The fact that we've spend over 100 million creating this is really bizarre.
I honestly can't see anything to be positive about in this team. We have lost one player, albeit, a record breaking goalscorer, but it looks like we've lost a whole team.
From the outside looking in, it does feel like there is a problem within, not just Koemans inability as a manager.

Would say it's not the last three games mate but more all this season so far with one half against a gang of farmers and one half against city aside, and it carries over from some terrible displays the end of last season as well, west ham and arsenal two very low points.

He turned it around last season primarily aided by Lukaku discovering the net again and going on a massive scoring run in games at home especially.

Look around this team and we don't have as player who can suddenly do that for this team now.

Have the feeling to spark something it would require dropping Rooney and going with holgate at cb ahead of Williams and jags, and going with Kenny at rb and Davies in cm
That's a lot of big name players he'd have to leave out and don't think he's gonna risk that.

The results hadn't been awful though so that's what matters ultimately.

The last few games we've been abysmal and the results have reflected that.

We'll see.

He still has my full backing, but he must change something soon. We're so easy to play against at the moment.

The failure to add a new striker is atrocious though and somebody at a higher level has to take responsibility for that. To not have four targets at least that were all of the required ability to take on that role is ridiculous.

..from what I hear, he's the token Everton link with the Martinez and Koeman regimes. Apparently he thinks he'll get a crack at the big job one day.

he must be way down the pecking order, unless kenwright gets his way but i'd say even he would realise unsworth is a better bet.

...I think last season's turn around coincided with the introduction of a couple of youngsters, particularly Davies.

Yep.

Kenny is the one for me.

We need width more than anything.

As we have no wingers to speak of (Bolasie is a huge miss), that like to stay wide, we have to find another way of playing.

For me, that's a back three of Holgate, Keane and Jagielka, with two wing-backs.

That also allows us to pack the midfield with a mix of players, and gives us the option of having two up top.

But that system needs width to work.
