The simple fact is he just isn't a very good manager. I've said it many times but his reputation is based purely on his playing career and people give him far more credit than his managerial career deserves based on that.

Done nothing significant as a manager, fallen out with players wherever he's been and shifted the blame to anyone but himself. Honestly wouldn't be sad to see him go and someone else given a chance to galvanize the squad.

We're not world beaters but we're far better than our recent showings suggest and there's something not right.
Some might say too late, but he put the blame on tonight's shambolic performance on himself and not the team.

Think he's forced to do that because Williams and Jags on either side would get massively exposed for pace where Keane isn't that slow.
Agreed. That's why everyone who understands football was calling for a first choice centre half to be brought in over the summer. Loads of people said it was unnecessary though. Mainly the same people who are now bedwetting.

Ideally we need Keane + 2 more but that's a lot of dosh on the defense and I can't see it being allowed by the people holding the purse strings.

I mean Stoke now have Shawcross, Zouma, Martins Indi and Wimmer... Stoke.

Yep. "We come to play attacking football and press high"

Proceeds to play more than half the team being ultradefensive and press for no more than 5 minutes a match.

Ya we just look so wrong. So unbalanced. I have no idea what style of play he is going for. No idea at all. We look like we are playing walking football with possession and without. Martinez style. And the odd long ball up to a striker who isnt there. Crazy how you need coaching badges for this utter dribble

It's 100% utterly depressing to watch and very frustrating.

Not a knee jerk reaction, but I am seriously wondering is there something going on behind the scenes.
I feel the same mate. Something doesn't quite sit right with me (not just the awful togger). Feels like there are underlying issues between the staff/board. Might just be because we're crap right now. Still not good though however you look at it. We've looked less than championship standard so far.

To think we could have just gone into this season playing Davies behind the striker and noticed little difference in the quality of play. Now he is buried in the depth chart

"NEVER TO BE SEEN AGAIN"

I've no idea Big Bob. I haven't given much thought to a 'new manager' because I didn't expect to find us in this position. Interim wise I'd give it to Unsworth and Big Joe but beyond that I don't know. What I will say is I would like a manager with passion i.e. Conte, Klopp.
You can be super cool when you're good.
He's being super cool when we're crap..and that's what's most worrying.
