Preview: Chelsea v Everton

Said this a week ago before the city game. We are playing our 3 hardest games at the wrong time of the season for us. Not only do we have numerous players we are trying to settle into the squad, but we are without Bolasie and Coleman, probably our 2 most important players when trying to play on the break. Other injuries haven't helped and neither has the suspension of Schneids. Plus it's coming on the back of 3 games in 6 days.

Let me just repeat where I started; this is one of our 3 most difficult games of the whole season. Let's not go overboard about it.

I agree and perspective is important. What gets people down though is the predictable monotony of results and performances in these games stretching back into infinity.

There will be no day or game when everything is aligned in our favour for these matches.

We like to look for excuses and you could make valid arguments today but we just seem pathologically incapable of grabbing the bull by the horns, so to speak.

Doesn't matter if we are playing Chelsea in February with no injuries and in brilliant form, if Everton and koeman refuse to actually play football and sit back, we won't win a thing
