Not good enough.

Not a fan of being a faux hardman either, should have kept Barry for another season.

Why are we obsessed about stupid stuff like this?

We deemed Heitinga a phony hard man when he did nothing to give off that impression and now the same with Besic?

Besides he may be a hard man for all we know. Not that it matters.

As for him not being good enough, he has missed the best part of 18 months with two serious injuries. It will take him time to get up to proper speed.

I thought he was generally fine tonight, played some very good balls over the top for players to run on to. Just looked a bit rusty and off the pace which is only natural all things considered.

Its not a question of him being good enough, he has a ton of talent. His mentality may be a bit suspect at times maybe.

I like Besic, but he seriously needs to knock the back heels on the head, he tries them every game and i've never actually witnessed him pull one off successfully yet.

fair play to him, he actually made me smile and laugh during that chelsea drubbing when he came on and did that with his first ever touched. Never have laughed at a goal everton have conceded before.

Thought he did OK on his first full game for well over a year. He understandably tired second half and I thought he was becoming a liability at that stage and was screaming at the TV for him to be substituted. But, fair play to the lad. He seemed to get his second wind and was a big part of the possession football we played in the last 10/15 minutes to see the game out.

I did enjoy the keep ball at the end, not entertaining but good game management, something we've been short of for a while. I know they'd probably lost heart but we snuffed out any chance of a feisty ending.

Disagree on them losing heart bit mate. They were throwing in some tackles during that spell, had one booking and could easily have had another. The control of the ball we showed was excellent I thought, although I was still a tad frustrated that we missed a few through ball opportunities to possibly score a second. But I suppose it was all about seeing the tie out by that stage.

yeah maybe mukka, that was my thought (that they'd lost heart) at the time but of course, it could have been that we were just very good at passing it around. It was nice to see. The forward passes never really worked tonight, certainly in the first half DCL was making some good runs early and across the line that had he eother been picked out or a ball popped over the defence, he would have been through. It will come though.

Think he grew into the game, especially having been out so long AND having to fill the boots of Gana. Capable of taking on a man, and spreading the play- I'm happy with that. Seems to have to throw in a dreadful tackle to find his range, but then times the rest to perfection. Any other player sends that lofted through ball he did, there'd be GIFs all over the gaff.
