Match Thread Everton v Sevilla

This team has potential but looks fair from the finished product and looks like it could do with a couple more friendlies.
Definitely some positives though and once everyone has built up some chemistry, we can be optimistic.

If you think about it, we should have won. Two poor decisions cost us (the Sevilla penalty and the Davies yellow). Sevilla were much better in possession until we brought Ademola, Cuco, Mirallas, Besic and Kenny onto the field, but two critical decisions cost us the win. Not too bothered as we looked sound defensively until Barry came on (KEK)

You lucky barsteward........no idea mate, no idea how we played, just poured another glass of wine.......I may not be the best person to advise you tbh.......

I was watching Galway v Tipperary - great match!

Kept in touch with this friendly with loads of subs being made through GOT.

Now enjoying a beer and smiling at the fume.

The first, mate.

It's like many here refuse to accept the Rooney we all watched last few years.

Why all of a sudden will he improve?

I said it in the Wazza thread but we're behaving like Kopites did with Slippy Steve when he was clearly finished but they wouldn't have it.

Rooney will cost us this season, mark my words. If Ronk can drop him and soon, then I'll change my tune on the manager. But I can't see it.

Writing is off before the season starts - must be a new record.

And Pickford playing a blinder.

Lookman will be class. Sandro looks a prospect.

Sandro looks more than a prospect to me. He has the power and pace to thrive in the PL. He'll just need to rely on his technical abilities against compact defensive shapes that sit a bit deeper or look to stretch them to allow opportunities for his teammates when things aren't breaking down. I don't think he'll struggle with teams that play more open as he'll look to play in behind them. He thrived at Malaga against those teams. Both players have the chance to really open up teams and they both want to attack, which I won't complain about. I think both are an asset to the team and we could begin to see them start on opposite sides of each other later in the season. I'm optimistic about the future of the club and the direction we're headed in.

Mainly because they won the under23 Prem title against the odds!
Because through the years of youth football they've always been a highly rated group. Played a big part in winning U20 World Cup - first time England have won a world competition since 1966.
