Aye, that's a possibility.

If we sign Giroud, then I think we'll keep DCL, purely because two of our three forwards will be in their 30's. If we sign someone younger, with a good fitness record ( which excludes Benteke ), then I think DCL will be loaned out.

I think loaning Dowell out means we're all but certain of signing Glyfi.

I personally dont think Dowell is even close to being ready at "this level", a loan would be utterly superb for the lad, he will either kick on or tread the John Paul Kissock road.

Yet to prove it at any significant level. Easy to batter youth levels but even then he has games where he looks out of his depth.

The Scouse Berbatov will have to prove it consistently in the Championship before we start anointing him the next Roons.
Yeah yeah yeah.

...and came in this summer to the first team and proved it there and deserved the chance to see a few games in a season that will have enough of them to go around.

Still, its not all doom and gloom, we now see £50M spent on a 28 year old.

All hail the giver of youth a chance.

I think it's a better move than staying and getting frustrated, he has more chance of playing competitive football and learning how to maintain a presence in a game.
I think it would of been better for him to go on loan abroad, but his skill and ability is not in question, but more his consistency and robustness.
Plus we do have a few too many midfielders on the books.

Unsy knows what he's doing, that's why he's a full time coach.

Dave, whilst I was happy he was given a chance when Martinez went, he didn't light up those games.

Yeah, he was solid but Davies did more and look where he's at now.

Go and have a season at Forest, play well and we go again next summer. He's 19, plenty of time.
