Cant see it to be honest, just before he got injured we had just sold Johnson, Saha had come in with big question marks, Vaghan was injured and our only other striker was Anichebe, i think the transfer window might even of passed by the time he got injured.

I remember his last goal was against Pompey when they spanked us all over the show at home and i think Yak missed two penalites in that game. Arry was the manager.

Im a massive Yak fan, but i have always thought he was a bit of a mercenary to be honest. I wouldnt be surprised if Arry or Grant came in for him - they have long historys of success with the Yak.

What gets me is - this quote appears on some website no one's ever heard of.

Everyone's accepting it as gospel.

(And Danny some fans are spouting a load of racist **** on the Facebook page)

I personally wouldn't have given it air time, until the quote was confirmed.

BS or not, I couldn't care less, it's all in the past now. Let's just hope he'll manage to get back to full fitness and rediscovers his predatory instinct. A Yak in top shape is a goal machine, as simple as that. Feed the YAK and he will score!

Im actually finding it hard to believe that article. The Yak has stated several times since coming back from injury how he wants to repay the fans and that he's looking forward to next season.

Who are MTNFootball.com exactly??

Exactly this.

This is the biggest bunch of bull I've read so far and we aren't even into June yet.

It's gonna be a long summer.

They're hardly a two bob website if that's what you're thinking.

They're one of the largest networks in the world, worth £35+ billion. They've just signed a deal with Manchester United;

It's one thing to say as his quote is, that he was close to joining. It never says he have regrets over it. That's the journalists words, not Yak's. Much the same as pops up around Arteta each transferwindow. "Arteta has told Moyes he wants to leave and return to Spain" turns out to be from Arteta saying something like "I'd like to play in Spain some day before I retire". It's journalism! It's deliberately stretched out to get people to read the articles and buy the paper to find out more.

I like Yak. I thought he was a mercenary when we signed him, but he has stuck with us and he has meshed with the team. He might not be the best striker out there, but as a second or third choise striker he's good. Especially since we often play with just one striker and Cahill behind.

he doesnt need to say the word regret because he said put paid which is to stop someone from being able to do what they want or hope to do

We lost that game 0-3 (despite being at least equal team) and he missed one penalty :).

Of course he is a mercenary, just like 99% players. I just don't get this article too, very weird.

And the Sun is owned by News International....part of Murdoch's empire, yet they still spew [Poor language removed] all over the show. I get the feeling this is exactly the same thing.
