Gibberish?

Obviously you know nothing about running a football club. Or politics. Or history either.

Oh and btw, the Soviet Union collapsed economically. Bit of a theme there hey Davek?

Please enlighten me about your CV that allows you to 'know about running a football club'.

<waits>

I tell you what Neiler, thanks for these links. It's comedy gold.

He's had a pop at underhand dealings in Greek football finances - running beyond their means with dodgy deals...the club that runs on a sleight of hand where the chairman tells people 'you dont need £5M to buy a £5M player'.

Well another related theme there Davek...

this is Greece we're talking about here. Another socialist government. Another bankrupt country with high levels of corruption.

So yeah. He is right.

I'm glad you find it comedy gold... I mean if I was as wrong - just as plain wrong as you, I wouldn't know whether to laugh or cry.

The Americans bankrupted the Soviets. And in turn Cuba.

So it was nothing to do with the huge military machine and the state apparatus then? Oh and the extremely inefficient economic systems or damage inflicted on the natural environment that caused it?

Because some would argue otherwise....... (like the history books)

* whispers * Don't tell Davek though.

OH and Davek, a £5mil player doesn't cost £5million. There's sign on fees, agents fees and possible other clauses...... So what's your point?

Hang on, the Socialists only took office at the arse end of last year in Greece, Mr Nazi.

Hardly their fault.

I could argue of the financial stealth tactics used by the US to effectively bring the Soviets to their knees, but I'm not going to as we would be here all day and neither would agree with the other.

History is boss though. What did you think of Stalin, Mussolini & Hitler lid?

I shudder to think what goes on in that head of his. It must be like a dogs breakfast.

The effect of environmental damage and net increase in industrial (economic) inefficiency and human welfare had a huge effect Chico.

It was unsustainable from the start in the 1940's ... and never stopped.

* Twenty per cent of former Soviet citizens in 1990 lived in "ecological disaster areas" with a loss of life expectancy of seven years and a high rate of infant mortality. Concentration on short-term economic growth with no consequence paid to long-term environmental consequences was characteristic of the process of socialist construction in the USSR and Eastern Europe

Abit like the "Davek Method of running a Football Club"

All contributing factors no doubt but it would have continued if it were not being financially check mated by the Americanos.

Industrial inefficiency is not that bad when you have the resources, both physical and population wise that the USSR had. Gorbachev's search for reform and thus allowing dissent within the ranks started the wheels in action.

But mainly, it was financial. They were in a terrible state really.
