The thing is I'm content with 6th/7th so long as we start looking like winning a trophy/getting into EL regulary. The top 6 are miles ahead and we won't catch them unless a sugar daddy buys us.

I'm just glad we don't have stoke/West Ham and Southampton fans looking down their noses at us in 11th whilst they beat us to every player. 7th and money to compete is heaven compared to those 2 Martinez seasons.

Thats our squad, regarding numbers we NEED 1 LB, 1 Winger and 1 Striker, we dont NEED 6 players.

Now clearly some players might be moved on, in that case, any player thats moved on, NEEDS replacing numbers wise.

A discussion regarding quality is a different matter.

If we are being honest they wouldn't be an upgrade for the teams above us.

But it's all in the collective. We are strengthening step by step, Spurs did similar a few years back with the Bale money and it took a couple of years for that team to click.

Add these to our young lads and the squad has improved dramatically. I doubt we are done either Rom will give us money to go for a big big signing.

We started season 16/17 miles behind the "top 6" so if you expect Everton to overtake them within 12 months you're deluded.

Why is he deluded, we've just finished 7th, why can't we expect to get top 4, Liverpool done it but we're deluded of we expect to do the same?

Maybe not good enough to walk into a current 'top 4 team', but better than what we have and therefore will take us closer.

If we improve league placing wise next season and improve the squad next summer again, they may well be part of our top 4 team
