Obviously it depends on who you're releasing does it not? Retaining dross simply to fill squad positions is not making our squad any better.
Ideally we need to make our starting XI the best it can be, with a few looks at the greater squad, and then starting adding depth over time.
The only problem is that with Europe, and all the demands that it will bring, it will not be as easy as that due to the extra games we'll play.
