Mayor's Bramley Moore Dock Open Letter To Evertonians

Ah well, its no biggy, the City is hosting the games, not just us like.

From a marketing point of view it's a Biggy. The ground for a year will already have it's commercial name like USM Bramley Moore which would have stuck by then so when it gets its commonwealth name which will be something dumb like "The Liverpool Waterside Arena", no-one will actually refer to it as that so the proper ground sponsor 'USM' get thier name out to more people.

Etihad was dropped for City Of Manchester Stadium for the games. Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think West Ham are allowed a sponsor because of its multi use so it stays as The London Stadium.

I'm guessing we would be in the same boat.

Vodafone is closing in on a multi-million pound deal to rename West Ham's football ground, The Telegraph can reveal.

The telecoms giant is in advanced talks with the owners of the former Olympic Stadium in East London with a six-year agreement possible this month, according to multiple sources.

A deal is not yet certain but if final negotiations progress smoothly, it is understood the 60,000-seater venue currently known as London Stadium will be named after Vodafone from the start of the next football season.

The naming rights have been put up for sale by the London E20 Stadium, the company set up to manage the site by its owners, the London Legacy Development Corporation and Newham Council.

I suppose the Sponsorship was delayed then until the stadium was rebuilt to how it is now. Lost opportunity though. I'm very vague on my stats here. Winging it.

Fools be trippin'...I'd imagine what'll happen is the bottom row of seats slide in to make room, seems like it'd be a PITA to do it any other way (ie. having to remove entire sections). Time will tell.
