Summer Transfer Window 2017

it's not financially crippling though, as we won't budget taking into account a big Barkley fee.

Getting a big fee would be a bonus, but it's not crippling if he went for nothing, just very disappointing.
Everton aren't yet in a position to be writing off 25-35m for a player, who doesn't want to be here (strange saying that cos he's an evertonian of course). I think it's imperative he's moved on if he doesn't commit and not just for financial reasons. The crowd already give Ross a hard time (wrongly in my opinion) but can you imagine the crowd if he makes those same mistakes knowing he really doesn't want to be here. Best for all parties if he moves this summer, unless he has a change of heart and commits to a new contract.

If we are able to get the proposed deals over the line and keep Ross the a 433 formation with Klassen as a box to box with a Sandro on the left of the 3 and Ross cutting infield from the right might just give us the goals from other areas we will need without Now we won't have Rom.

Robertson was strongly linked to Liverpool... by The Mirror.... reported it as done deal a month ago! They have a terrible transfer story track record don't they.
Well,it isn't great, but to be fair they are bang on the money sometimes so can't be totally ruled out as a source.

We can't do Mirror links here but this headline appeared on the 6th of May way before anyone else...

Everton boss Ronald Koeman has made Ajax’s Davy Klaassen his No.1 summer target

'Disappointed but not surprised' best sums up the general feeling I guess. It was always a bit of a long shot, let's be honest.
Other strikers will present themselves but I just think we have to set our sights a bit lower/ more realistically.

He wasn't awesome, whether through effort or anything else.

He was an astonishingly limited player who got people on his side because he knew he was in way over his head and put a shift in to try (almost exclusively without success, except one game maybe two) to compensate.

As for Lukaku, we've spent 20 years or more complaining how we have strikers who run around a lot but don't score goals. The two we've had in that time who DO score regularly (Yak for that one season and Rom) get abuse from all over the place for being "lazy".

Each to their own but I like to see players putting their all in. Which was more my point about the Straq. And the reason I'm looking forward to hopefully seeing Sandro play as he strikes me as someone who will give that passion. I don't get the feeling he will be the headless chicken type.

Get that Belgium Chelsea lad in Deco, I think he'll slot for fun for us.

He looks a good player. Can't see Chelsea letting him go though.
