Dolberg so why do we have a chance over the likes of Liverpool, Dortmund and Monaco what will all want him.
We can offer him fast-tracked first team football probably. Where he would have to wait and take his chances at some of the bigger clubs.

Not that I think there's a chance we land him like.

And there it is. Every single player we have been linked with since january seems to start over performing and there profile goes through the roof, which makes other teams stand up and take notice.

Dolberg & klassen- on this europa league run.
Pickford- we get linked last week and he throws in that hull display
Keane - linked in jan, gets a couple of england caps after that, people start to notice him
Sigurdsson- linked about a month a go, puts that peach of a free kick in at old trafford
Sandro- not mentioned anywere a week and a half ago, koeman n walsh turn up, nets in that game, all of a sudden spurs & atletico interested

If i was a players agent, i would link them with a move to everton, does wonders for there performances

Good players are going to get noticed mate. I'd be concerned if we were being linked with loads of players that have stayed under the radar their whole careers, we want to be moving onto the next level.

Does he start for Liverpool or Dortmund mate? Unless they sell does he start for Monaco (and maybe he wants to play in front of more than 15k people also)

But yeah there is a variety of reasons why we 'could' sign him ahead of any of those clubs, and bigger ones too, ofc it's all if's and but's, but a small list

He has stated he wants to play and 'ruled out' a move to an 'elite' club - name-dropped both City and United when doing that - so if that is his thinking then it rules out probably 8-10 clubs where he doesn't feel he would get the game time to develop fully.

His price is rising by the performance - meaning that the 'lesser' clubs - as in teams of the level you suggested will be more and more unwilling to pay (ofc that almost certainly applies to us as well - unless Moshiri really wants to make a statement in his spending this summer - which sadly until it happens is all hopes and dreams on our part)

We have with Stones and now Lukaku a growing reputation for bringing in a young player - giving them maximum game time and then the player subsequently moving on for a huge fee (agents will like that) and to a 'big' club - players will like that

IF - Lukaku goes, then we have a absolutely gaping hole ast centre forward so the player will realise he has a chance to come into a team that plays one up front and be the absolute main man for that team - and one who has constantly had their striker up at the top of the premier league scoring charts.

Just to note - despite banging the drum for the lad, I actually don't think we will sign him - but not because we couldn't - but because i don't think the manager would spend the money needed for a longer term player (he wants instant results), i don't think Kenwright and Elstone would be able to get a deal like this over the line - as it would involve quick negotiations and they are risk averse - no vision - no thinking about the future with those two, just counting the pennies - and you don't sign one of the hottest prospects in world footy by trying to haggle down a team like Ajax over a month of negotiating (for example).

Effectively the Chairman and CEO of our club are very much 7th place - best of the rest is a great achievement people, the manager i think wants a year or two of performing 'above' expectations and then he wants a job which is less a project, and the owner in Moshiri talks a very good talk but as of yet their is no actual proof on the playing side that things are substantially different (and until he changes the people who negotiate the deals their wont be)

Signing Valencia starts the alarm bells for me.

Anyone advocating the signing of Valencia needs to give their head a wobble, the lads a surplus at a woeful West Ham team and we will sign him?

and we laughed at Sunderland and Watford for taking our rejects - we are taking West Hams.

5m for a backup striker - if thats the calibre of squad player we are aiming at then can forget about doing much next season - would he actually start for any team in this league? yet deemed an ok backup for us by loads. Bafling

Depends who else comes in for me.

Does it really though mate, whats the point in reality of shifting off a lot of dead wood in players, then signing someone who like Valencia to take their place - is he actually any better than Kone was when we signed him?

Even for 5m seems like it's just pissing money away that good be much better used elsewhere, rather than signing a player who wouldn't have a chance in hell of getting near the squad never mind the first team of any club above us - and a fair few below us too

Yes, that's why I said it.

He's not that bad. And turned at least a coupe of games in our favour this season winning us points. I'd say considerably better than Kone.

If it's just Enner Valencia then of course, that's mental. But if it's with a load of other decent players I have no real issue with it. Especially if it's for the much lower £5m.

Thing is mate, he is that bad, would he have any chance of making any squad for any top 6 team, which we purport to want to be next season?

and if he wouldn't - then why is he good enough to be in our squad

We can't just go out and buy loads of those top 6 players. As we keep finding they want to go to these teams already.

I honestly don't mind him. He's been better than any of us expected. But people seem to forget the few good things he's done, like turning the Saints home game around when he came on, and focus on the few bad things, which I am happy to admit there have been some. Like every other player.

Just read the same...

Mirallas and Valencia....

Mirallas I could 'kind of' understand as a squad filler till Jan or next summer.
Valencia is absolutely dreadful

He's helped get us some key points this season though.

Wouldn't be against keeping him, though wouldn't want it to be for a big fee.
