Sir Source(neezy),

I imagine I speak for many in saying we miss seeing Landon in Blue. But I think it speaks volumes about the club that so many of us remain in love even after his departure (the fact that, freudian slip or not, I referenced departure & not "return" may say it all). And I would say this is due to so many factors; players, managers, & not least of all fans. And imo, GOT is the perfect example of exactly why the club is so irresistible. No fluff, it's easily a top forum-and as yanks we're no amateurs when it comes to browsing the interwebs in order to follow our boyz. So w/ that (long) intro, got 2 general questions:

1. Any thoughts on how the club views the U.S. market? From somebody who works in advertising, both tv & web (what's that boss? Yeah reports coming right up) I just don't believe it's even possible to overstate the potential opportunity here. I know we're not real madrid but it seems like you could do much better w/ overseas merchandising & the like. To underistimate the consuming power of America would be a grave mistake, imo. So in other words...can't you get your jersey "ish" together in order to fund a Donovan return?? Come on man, our consumer waste alone could support midsize nations for cryin' out loud!

2. I've lived w/ a lovely Basque girl over here for several years. She's amazing yet I continue to be fascinated by the complex nature of her Basque heritage. It's truly one of the most unique cultures in the world, not to mention that crazy language of theirs. It's impossible, I've given up trying to even attempt learning! So my question is whether Arteta's Basque roots come into play, & how? I know he's very close w/ xabi, a fellow euskaldun! And from what I understand san sebastian is more liberal than other regions. And do you think this could in any way have impacted his continued snub for spain callup? I know how regional that country is to begin w/, can't imagine being from basque country necessarily helps a player. Many have in the past declined callups due to their basque nationalism. Any insight?

Sorry for the ramble. As always, thanks for your trust & insight.

Mate , that's me an' you sorted .

I love the Basques . My first trip , on board , was to Bilbao . I've visited and loved the whole area ever since .

I'm actually working on something now with Basque connotations - somewhat tenuous , but no less real for that - .
