Summer Transfer Window 2017

It's years of being beaten down mate, added to the fact we were run rather shabbily for years from hand to mouth. Not the fans fault, but a sweep of optimism wouldn't do us any harm as you rightly point out.

To be honest, as an Everton fan, we've done rather well, not having been relegated since the 1950s. Not too many teams can claim that - erm only Arsenal, I think - we have had some great teams, we have had some dross - but underlying is a proper football club, none of this modern day flash in the pan ownership and prawn sandwich rubbish. A proper decent club, run by flawed people, but they care, proper care about EFC.

the tone and nature of everton fans. Please don't under any circumstance consider that things MIGHT go well for us. Every rumour is surrounded by pessimism, every signing is greeted with derision and we got him because no-one else wanted them. That's Everton fans that.

Does any one fancy a month of positivity, no misery, no moaning, just encouragement. I know we have loads of bad experiences, but we do have some good ones too. Even our prospective new stadium is greeted with an abundance of doubt.

The fans need to live up to Nil Satis Nisi Optimum too. Starting Friday, can we turn Goodison into a stadium of support rather than the usual morgue?

I know mate.

Don't worry as this summer we will sign loads of fantastic players and Rom will sign by having his contract tattoed to his back.

We will have a new stadium that will have floodlights powered by rainbows to light up the turf. The sprinklers at halftime will spin and fire skittles into the crowd.

As we walk upto the ground or use the free segway you get as a season ticket holder, the holographic cameras on the stadium will show holograms of great Everton moments for us to celebrate.

Plus, after evening games we will put on a fireworks show that puts the London and Sydney New Years Eves celebration to shame.

WHATS OUR NAME!!!!

Is that you Bill?

Only joking, I a bit of optimism and realism are always welcome.

Now now mr sarcastic pants!

Dail Star speculating today that Leicester will struggle to keep Riyad Mahrez, and linking him with a move to PSG for around £35m.

Presumably we wouldn't be able to get him if PSG really do want him, but I'd like to see us put an early bid in. He'd be a great way to solve our ongoing problem on the right wing IMHO.

He's miles better inside than on the right though.

Not that I watch Leicester much, but I was under the impression that they use him as a right wing in a 442, but sometimes play him as one of the front two in the same formation?

I was thinking that he could be the right side of a front three in a 433, or the RW in a 4231 (and obviously in a 442 if we ever used it).

If we had any kind of chance, then yes, Absolutely. I think selling BArkley and playing Mahrez in the role Barkley has been playing for us since the turn of the year would make us stronger.

If PSG are in the frame, we have no realistic chance though

Yeh they do but he can often be anonymous on the right wing this season. Like vs Atletico I forgot he was playing till they changed to 4-2-3-1

Sandro reportedly rejected a move to Sevilla, apparently for 'financial reasons'.

Suppose that's good and bad news. Means we have a good opportunity to offer a good deal, but if he's after good money there's always a chance a team can come in whenever with a higher offer. This is a type of deal we should lock in early if our interest is genuine.

can I have M&M's please
I'm allergic to the artificial flavourings

BTW, did you know that a team of data analists say that evertons playstyle would fit that of klaassen the best.

The team has been involved in a few transfers already, so who knows

Word of warning on Klaassen, we already have an almost identical example to go off in Siem De Jong. Ajax captain aged 24, attacking midfielder, banged the goals in, looked good in Europe, signs for Newcastle, can't get a game, back in Holland on loan and banging them in again. It really is a poor league, and for every Van Persie there are 4 or 5 who get badly exposed.

Viktor Fischer can't get in the boro team.....
