Summer Transfer Window 2017

Thing is we probably do need 15 but won't all happen in one window.
After Saturdays display I'd only keep Gana ,Baines Davies Kenny Holgate
Add Coleman and Morgan and we need 15 lol
Seriously I think Koeman is showing Moshiri just how much we need to spend.
It may not be practical but we need GK 2CB 1 attacking mid for Middle 3 and 2 to support Rom
So that's 6 for the first 11
Not practical to change that many but Sat was a shambles and showed what needs to be done.

if Dendonker is the one who played against Manchester Utd who I'm thinking of, I thought he stood out above the Tielmans lad performance wise.

It will be mate, Tielemans against United I thought had a very average game, one highlight reel shot aside. Dendoncker from memory was the lad who they took off to save him for their league game that weekend in the midpoint of the second half at which point United controlled the game from then on.

Your forgetting that a few of those signings will 100% certainty be players who can play 2-3 roles if needed.

So 2 strikers and 2 attacking mids becomes one of each and a player who can play both.

Someone like Dendonker for example, can like Dier at spurs play defensive mid or centee back etc. Blind is a good example for that type of covering player - one bloke but can slot in at a good level at lb, cb, or defensive mid.

yeah i know, i'm just thinking we definitely need an attacking mid, and then i thought lennon is out of commision atm and deula likely to be sold leaving us with just mirallas for right wing and then bolasie is still crocked for the start of the season with lookman apparently homesick and DCL being a square peg which leaves us with barely one left mid.

We then will offload kone and niasse which leaves us with again just a sole striker (plus DCL if we're being kind). Ideally you'd want a few attacking midfielders in there who can play in a multiple of positions, and then maybe one of the strikers can do that as well.

For those interested in a recap....the season is not over, but we have already been linked, however tenuously, with the following:

ST: Willian Jose, Sandro Ramirez, Cedric Bakambu, Diego Falcinelli, Kasper Dolberg
W: Richard Ghezzal, Henry Onyejuru, Jonathan Cafu
Mid: Gylfi Sigurdsson, Wayne Rooney, Youri Tielemans, Willian, Davy Klaassen, Leander Dendoncker
CB: Michael Keane, Virgil Van Dijk, Stefan De Vrij, Ben Gibson, Harry Maguire, Francesco Acerbi, Alessio Romagoli, Mateo Musacchio
LB: curiously none really
RB: Cedric Soares, Cuco Martina, Kieran Trippier
GK: Jordan Pickford, Kasper Schmeichel, Stephane Ruffier

Quite a list (and i am sure to have missed a few)....will we sign even one of those lads? Given the size of that list i would think one of them is bound to end up in blue. Assuming Rom and Ross stay (we should all hope yes!) then at a minimum we need 1 ST, 1 Mid (with goals in him), 1 CB and 1 GK of first team quality.

If we have any prospects of improving our league position we will need to hit the ground running. If we are introducing 5-7 players into the team for the start of next season (and with a few possibly from abroad needing time to adjust) it is going to be a big ask.

Personally think that we need to keep Lukaku irrespective of the possible drop in asking price and whether he will be in a big sulk for the first few weeks/months.

Thanks for that - could do with someone providing that list every couple of days with any additions and the removal of those definitely not coming because they have signed for others. I wouldn't be surprised if we ended with one each of the GK, RB, CB and Mids above - I fear it might be volume over quality unfortunately.

In terms of the spurs players, how many were there in the team when they got top 4 the first time around? a few of them at least i would bet and when they proved to be 'not good enough' they were moved on. Soldado was the odd one, you expected him to be a good striker for them and couldn't adapt, but then because of his short comings, they gave a chance to a young lad from the academy so that 28 million in fairness gave a break for Kane to prove himself in a white shirt.

In terms of fantasy football, i would love the club to bring in 8 players this summer to deal with the changing of the squad. 4 Young 4 pro, something like the following;

Young

Tielmans / Pickford / Inneachio or other back up striker / tierney or robertson (if realistic) Keane / 1 winger

Pro's

Sagna (back up right back for mean time), 1 Winger with experience, back up striker,

This for me, or zabaleta. I don't want us spending £10-15m on a right back that may only player 6 months whilst coleman is out. Get someone in on loan or play Holgate. Spend the money elsewhere.
