Summer Transfer Window 2017

Huge fans talking about their own team and what they will do in regards to selling players would for me have to be tinged with maybe what his hopes are rather than what the board will do though.

In reality we should be aiming for building an attack not reliant on lukaku, and certainly not buying players just to suit him, because frankly this Sumner or next he will be gone, and we are then left with a team built around a player we don't have.

As for Ajax players, I would hope Koeman would be a huge positive in striking any deals.

Oh he does know his stuff mate. End of the day he works in the media and understands that Ajax will always sell their best players these days if the right offer comes along. In a way, it's no different to one of us saying the same about Rom... Even though others may think 100mil is too much, we can rightly say that that is his value to our club. It's not biased. We just know it to be true.

And yeh I phrased it badly.

I think either way next season we'll see us line up with three strikers more often than not.

I do harp on about it, but the template will be based on the Saints side of last year.

Three 'strikers'. One focal point (Rom or another), a wide, quick player (i.e. this Sandro from Malaga) and then usually a playmaker in the Tadic role (Barkley or another).

Hopefully we make them the right offers then mate.

As for we set up, he'll ideally go as you said for that type, although think we should aim for higher calibre than he had at saints for example.

The target man as you suggested I'd like to see as a player who can do that role but who has a lot lot more to his game and isn't one dimensional, why I am keen on Dolberg massively. Ziyech would be the ideal Tadic role, he effectively replaced Tadic at Twente but has now shown his quality over two teams since moving to Ajax, the pacey player is the trickiest to think about, as Mane frankly was very very good.

Also need to have players who can provide competition in those roles, otherwise one injury wrecks the entire system.

Very difficult summer ahead for Walsh and Koeman.

If we lost Rom, and next season lined up with say Dolberg, Ziyech, Sandro, and with say Iheanacho or some such providing depth, then given we'd probably get all for the price of Lukaku, I wouldn't exactly be worrying.

Think Koeman will be wanting a more experienced striker coming in as well should Rom leave mate.

I don't mind us going for a one-dimensional focal point like Benteke or Dost. We've never really had that since Dunc and it allows the wide forwards the chance to run off them. Dolberg - for example - is a target man but doesn't come close to them types in the air or dominating a centre half. Problem we have now is our wide forwards never gamble and run ahead of Lukaku because frankly he's piss poor aerially for his size.

Lukaku is poor in the air for his size but he's not the reason our forwards don't make runs mate.

Blaming Rom for Barkley's and Kev's faults is a bit of a stretch.

Ramirez, scored Malaga's third goal. Sign up the first goalscorer.

Ontiverios will be a cracking player in a few years, but I think he'll always be too lightweight for the Prem.

Sandro is definitely a goer by the looks of things, based on papers over in Andalucia this morning.

I'm not solely blaming him but if you were a forward would you feel inclined to sprint past the defence every time a ball was knocked up to Rom? I sure as Hell would do it a lot more if Benteke was in my time as he's guaranteed to win most.

If palace went down would have no problem going for Benteke personally, long as we brought in another quality cf like the boy Dolberg.

Yeh just wish we could get a corner or a free-kick in a match and I wouldn't be like "yeh this isn't going in".

Question is, we sold Lukaku for between what we want and what's bandied around as what Fee Chelsea etc are wanting.

We could if palace went down likely get Benteke, Dolberg, Ziyech and Sandro for the same amount, overall how stronger would we be?
