Dolberg looks like he has that magic. Surely Koeman could call in some favours and get him in?

Not overly convinced on Klaassen from what I've seen but who knows.

Tielemans is in that same bracket as Dolberg where the quality is obvious but they aren't ready to play for a CL side yet.

In full football manager mode, best case for me would be:
Rom stays
Ross stays

In:
Dolberg £15m
Tielemans £20m
VVD or Koulibaly £40m
Mertens £20m
Rooney free
Hart £10m
Garbutt/Kenny step it up to cover FB positions

£105m

Out:
McCarthy £15m
Funes Mori £15m
Kone free (out of contract)
Stek £1m
McGeady £2.5m
Cleverley £8m (done)
Deulofeu £15m
Mirallas £10m
Valencia end of loan
Niasse £10m when Hull stay up
Barry free

£76.5m

Net spend £28.5m + extra £400k pw net wages.

Our side would be:
Hart

Coleman (when fit) - Williams - VVD - Baines

Morgan - Davies/Tielemans - Gueye/Besic

Rooney/Ross - Mertens/Bolasie

Rom/Dolberg

I can't see any reason why we couldn't bring in all of those targets. The hardest would be VVD/Koulibaly and there are plenty of players out there we could try for instead.

Think we'd end up paying about 25-45m more for that lot mate, but think also we'd sell those for 10-15m also.

So be more like a net outlay of 50m or so, throw in a Keane/Gibson type for 20m and a punt on someone like that Henry lad for 10-15m and change that keeper for a younger/potentially better one and add competition for the fullbacks and overall it'd cost us 85-90m which should be affordable if we really want to push the club on.

Suppose a good thing we have in our favour going for younger players is the perception we still have that we are a selling club who makes a huge profit on these players, maybe gets fees knocked down in place of future sell ons etc.

...lots of Dolberg links in this morning rags, £20m seems low to me and I expect there will be plenty of suitors;

Player himself 'i think' yesterday' in an interview rulesd out himself moving to a 'top' level club like City, United etc due to wanting to ensure he plays for his development mate, so that removes a large number of clubs i would guess who we'd lose out too.

Dunno about the fee mate, Ajax tend to get a decent price but you never really see them bending teams over on fees, and they've sold a lot of players over the years with massive 'potential' for fees that looking back on them seem way too cheap. Eriksen and Vertonghen for about 11m each etc, maybe that fee would be around the right mark - especially if it included a substantial sell on % from us (which i'm guessing looking at Stones and Lukaku and the way their values rose hugely would be something most selling teams to us would want now)

Also think mate, he's only had one season in the senior level so far as well, although one that looks like he could be a real star of the future. Looking at previous similar players - the ones who have gone and moved to 'big clubs' have tended to be farmed out on loan and not featured much for the senior teams for a few seasons, hell even look at the way Depay was handled at United for a good example of talent/reputation not cutting it when you make that step.

Really think out of all the various names thrown around, that this is the best possible 'risk' we could take, we could offer him the level of European footy he is currently playing, we have a massive need for his position and not a lot of players standing between him and the first team (would say we have none actually), have a manager with great links to the club, and offer the player that next step he talks about.

Worry for me would not be from anothe rEnglish team coming after him (think they will be targeting 'bigger' names or more proven players|), the worry would be from someone like a Dortmund who have a knack for signing up the very bets potential early.

Get this lad and say Tielemans and Henry in, and thats a massive injection of youth into an ageing squad, then get the rest of the team sorted with experienced 25-29yo players - that's what I'd call an almost perfect blend of youth/experience.

If we did go down that route, then any doubts i'd have about Rooney would go straight away, imagine how much he could impart and mould these types of players with his experience etc

Thing is, Tielemans and Dolberg seem to have their head screwed on and seem set on not being the next big talent to sit on the bench somewhere. They genuinely sound like they are only interested in moves which will lead them playing week in week out.

With our record with youngsters over the last season(s) it can only put us in a good position, with Europe and the chance to push further to put us in a great place with these players.

You never know what might happen but I wouldn't rule out Koulibaly completely. We wanted him before and he'll know that and the only other club that wanted him when we did last summer, Chelsea, seem to if turned their attentions to other players, most notably van Dijk!

But I'm not too worried about us bringing in a CB or 2, there's plenty of quality out there to choose from, from the likes Keane, Maguire, Gibson, van Dijk, Koulibaly, Acerbi, Manolas, Rudiger, de Vrij, Davinson Sanchez, Veltman, Rubén Semedo, Nastasic, Tah, Bruma, Vestergaard, Laporte, Lemos, Gimenez, INIGO MARTINEZ Kara Mbodj, Engles, Kjaer, Musacchio to name a few....

There is no way on gods green earth that anyone with the surname Martinex should ever be allowed near our club again

If we only have a net spend of 28 million I would be majorly pissed off.
I would be hoping for a net spend closer to 100 million with a gross spend of 160/170 million.
On a side note I hope Lennon recovers and the club keep him and look after him

Sign Dolberg and Tielmans, they have good seasons, say they want CL football, get dogs abuse off fans and leave sound familiar, only this time we are hoping they can help us gatecrash the CL party.

West Ham are chasing £10million Brazilian winger Jonathan Cafu. The 25-year-old will be a target for several Premier League sides this summer with Everton, Leicester and newly promoted Brighton also chasing the forward, who has a release clause of £10.2m in his contract with Bulgarian side Ludogorets Razgrad. We are still getting put in the same category as WHU and Brighton(WTF), we are never going to get any recognition of taking the next step until we make some kind of statement signing.

Big season next year to see if we truly are progressing.
