The jury's out on this.

If I was Ronald id say your staying for next season
The chap is a bell end. He's two years left. If I was Ronald id say your staying for next season n if you don't try you can sit beside bill in the stand otherwise your staying cause you signed a contract. Then sell him after next season. Well take a hit of about twenty million so what though
Personally don't see the point in keeping him if he doesn't want to be here.
If there's no way we can convince him to sign a new contract we should sell him for as much as we can get and reinvest the money wisely.
Not only is it a bad idea financially to force him to stay, as his value will go down, but you run the risk it'll hurt team morale.
Far better to buy some new players who want to play for us than to try forcing players to stay who won't be focussed or driven.
Depending on the personality of the player, there can be every point in keeping him as shown by Liverpool keeping Suarez.
Lukaku has said before that he will never cause trouble or leave on bad terms, it will be when its right for all parties. He also has the Euro's coming up at the end of next season, plus we all know he has wanted to move to a CL team since he signed and he's still managed to be professional and do his job.
If he gets us CL football next season, then any drop in transfer value would be more than made up by the increase in money. Its a risk, but our best chance of reaching CL is with him.

"His comments can be quite disruptive at times and if he doesn't get his move this summer they could be even more so next season."
Not really. The team seem to love him and most of the fans still love him. That's because they know he's genuine top notch quality, the likes of whom doesn't come around too often.
I can see why some want to do that and you're probably right about him being professional in his attitude to playing. I'm just not sure it's worth risking the financial loss if we don't make champions league next season.
Will be interesting to see how this plays out between Rom and the club.
With prices rising each year and us supposedly paying £20mill for a CB with 1 year left on his contract this summer, I think the fee for a 24 year old proven PL striker with world class potential will still command over £40mill even with 12 months on his contract. We may not make a massive profit but we wont lose money.
But we are not a Man City or Chelsea who can afford to turn our nose up at £40/50 million. We also have about 6-7 good signings needed this summer who will all cost a fair whack and a new Stadium that's currently being in the process of being funded.
It would be absolutely daft to keep Rom an extra year on the slim hope of a top 4 finish. Even more so if we lose Ross on the cheap this season if he does go. £30 million for Ross and £40 Million for Rom would total £70 million, we could probably get £50 million for Ross if he had more than 1 year on his deal and about £80 million for Rom. That's £60 million lost that's alot of money mate for a club like ours. This is business not FIFA 17
But so could selling Ross and Rom for £100mill this summer and buying a Lacazzette and another fancy name from abroad for the same value but them failing to settle, or struggling to adapt to the English game. Liverpool sold Suarez and got Balotelli, Markovic and Moreno. Spurs sold Bale and got Soldado, Capoue, Lamela and Paulinho.
Its a gamble either way but i'd rather have the tried and tested (plus added quality) and have a go with that.

He doesn't want to be here mate he has refused a new deal, as much as you love the lad everyone needs to accept this is his Bale and Suarez season, getting the golden boot them moving on to bigger things. I'm 90% certain Lukaku to Chelsea is all but done and I couldn't care less anymore tbh. I'm excited with the rebuild on our hands and trust Koeman to bring in some good players. Walsh needs to earn his crust this season.
I honestly don't want him to stay if he doesn't want to be here. Would rather get £80 million for him this window and hopefully reinvest it well than keep him a year and have an uninterested Rom not doing the business then leaving for £30-40 million the season after. We haven't the finances to just let £40-50 million go willy nilly especially with the new stadium.
For me we have to keep Barkley, losing both in 1 summer would be a disaster.
