Ross Barkley

Nevet thought I'd see the day where I'd log on to GOT and read abusive comments attacking the mayor of the City of Liverpool for speaking out against the racial stereotyping of an Everton player and the people of the city in general, by a known bigot who caused so much offence to the city in the past.

A new low has been reached.

Hardly a real condemnation though. McKenzie is a loathesome little [Poor language removed]. Article being rightly condemned on the Palace forum.

Better than I expected. Didn't think they'd do anything as that loathesome bellend has been trending on twitter all day and no doubt driven a ton of traffic to their site.

Anything which tarnishes his worsening reputation even a bit is ok by me.

Interestingly the Daily Mail is the only news outlet who hasn't reported on this story so far...
That was the first place I looked considering they had been running the Barkley assault episode every day since it broke.
Couldn't find it there so got the article from The Independent on line.

"That" second tweet was bang out of order imo.
It's not on. Everyone up and down the country knows how our club and supporters have been shoulder to shoulder with Liverpool. That was just a cheap petulant shot by a man hungry for publicity...and he's our stadium partner! (or the public face of it). Kewnright/Moshiri or whoever should be demanding answers from him.

Te other thing is this: wtf is Anderson doing about selling the S*n in the City? He backs calls for a boycott but wont challenge the legality of shopkeepers to stock and sell it. He's a hypocrite. At the very least he could tell any shop owners that the City Council does not take the selling of it lightly and that leases and planning decisions would be taken with those considerations in mind...and there isn;t a judge anywhere who would choose to take up a fight against the local authority because it's such a hot potato.

He needs to get his own house in order before calling out Everton.

I've told you. He's using this as a Scouse race issue. That is almost as deplorable as what McKenzie has said abourt gangsterism and Liverpool.

By the way, is your position still that I "defend McKenzie" here? I'd like to know if you dont mind. It means a lot to me for obvious reasons....
Why are you making a big noise? The amount of things you ate

Some people are just so hungry for attention that they will type anything to get a rise. Unfortunately there are some on this forum that this has become expected behaviour.

Dave, while I understand we're you're coming from, but a mayor won't have any authority on what shops can or cannot sell, and threatening people, with regards to planning applications, is straight up illegal

Was on the Irish main evening news as well. What's his deal this McKenzie fella? I agree wholeheartedly with big Joe Mayor that the club should ban the Sun and furthermore all News Corporation publications.

Mckenzie's views on Mcguiness may also be relevant to any Irish coverage.
Having read a bit more today.
