When I was young I used to go out in Southport, and we always saw footballers out. There were never any issues. I remember my mate, who was a red, being in The Kingsway and Sheedy and Snodin were in there. Snodin, who was a bit narky, asked my mate what he was looking at, so he pointed to Sheedy and said "his cultured left foot" lol.
I think society's changed now though. Footballers are paid to much, and because money now seems more important than it used to, jealousy is bound to creep in. Plus social media etc. I don't think I'd go out to a bar if I was a player these days.
