Weird that he hasn't signed the contract as were starting to get a good side together.

Perhaps hes been listening to lukaku and wants to see us spend some cash?

I guess his agent is doing his job properly in regards his client(Ross). Waiting to see how the Lukaku deal pans out, could suddenly see the club losing it's 2 best assests, if Rom goes ross will be able to name his price, within reason.

Not been funny but you have been saying we should replace him.

Obviously he has high and low in a season. There was nothing wrong I said on that, most of the quotes were from last September to December. His gameplay changed a lot since January. Massive improvement under Koeman. As to the new playmaker yes I do believe another playmaker is needed and both can see each other as competition. You need a big squad to play both PL and EL.

No actual Evertonian would leave Everton for Spurs ffs. I can't believe there's anything in that rumour.
Agree but if he did go to spurs they would have a very good chance of winning the league. Him & eriksen would be very very creative they may win it anyway next season however for me he would be brilliant for them.

I'm hopeful that any delay in signing is due to his advisors ensuring he gets the best deal and doesn't miss out on any substantial top end wage increases, if as we hope we pursue quality players and subsequently increase the wage bill.
In any case played well again today and worked his backside off to give us our victory.

Spurs have no chance of winning the league next season.

Ross Barkley: Everton manager Ronald Koeman warns midfielder he could be sold

Romelu Lukaku (left) and Ross Barkley have both been offered new contracts by Everton
Everton midfielder Ross Barkley must sign a new contract or he will be sold, manager Ronald Koeman has warned.

The 23-year-old, who provided an assist for the first of Romelu Lukaku's two goals in the 4-2 win over Leicester, has a year left on his current deal.

"We offer him a new contract, and then there are two possibilities," he said.

"One, he signs that contract. If he doesn't sign that contract then we need to sell the player. It's simple, it's not so difficult in my opinion."

The England international - born in Liverpool - has scored five goals and provided eight assists for Everton in all competitions this season.

His team-mate Lukaku, who is the league's leading marksman with 23 goals, last month turned down a new five-year deal thought to be worth around £140,000 a week.

The Belgian, whose current contract expires in 2019, recently stated his desire to play in the Champions League next season.

The Toffees are currently seventh in the table - seven points shy of a Champions League spot.

"We try to keep the best players," the Dutch manager added. "We spoke a lot about Ross and Rom because they are really important.

"Most of the time the quality of the players can be the difference between Everton and the opponent, and they played really well.

"We know Rom is a great finisher but Ross played really good football between the lines.

"I think he should have scored one but it is what you like to see - your best players performing like they showed, because they played outstanding, the whole team performance was outstanding."

I have a feeling Levy will try to lure him in

...you would think that type of thing is already happening. It seemed odd when RK was asked about Barkley's contract before Christmas he responded that there was plenty of time to talk in the New Year. Barkley had 12 months left, Lukaku 2 years yet there was lots of discussion with the Belgian.

The club didn't seem in a rush but it now appears Barkley is stalling. It's a strange state of affairs but I can't help thinking it's increasingly unlikely he'll sign. It surprises me because he seems a home bird. It's an odd one.
