For me it's not really about the money - sure if we'd paid £6/8m and he was a squad filler i'd be easier on the bloke, but we didn't.
He's just not a good footballer,
@Neiler mentioned above that he
'made up serious yards and penetration was key to starting every break, transitioned the play and breakaway and scored and assisted, we were were becoming very reliant on him.' - he was also the reason a lot of attacks broke down. No Premier League footballer, NOT ONE should be as wayward and technically poor as to have a 22% shot accuracy ( I know it sounds very FIFA 17) but it's a statistic, a cold hard fact. He was key to starting every break because we were playing everything through him - and look how that turned out.
The first 6 games aside, we won 1 out of 10 (including 6 draws) with Bolasie as focal point of starting attacks. He gets injured at United and we all of a sudden start to play better? if we were 'becoming very reliant on him' then he wasn't doing a very good job at delivering was he.
In 4 years he had 17 assists. 133 games. That's 4.25 assists A SEASON, 1 assist every 7.82 games. In that time he scored 10 goals as an out and out attacking player, so that's 1 goal every 13 games or every 1170 minutes. I don't care that it was for Palace, if they are 'on a plate' then any forward would score them.
