Everton FC's Farhad Moshiri BUYS the Royal Liver Building

I see this as a statement of his commitment to the city. Now he has a huge investment in not one, but two of the city's greatest and most historic assets, Everton FC and now the Liver Buildings. These are not the actions of a fly-by-night asset stripper, (as some still see him as). He is an investor, of course, and will expect a nice profit, but I think he sees a lot more opportunity in this city in the long term. Everton is a big part of that. The stadium will end up being just as iconic as the Liver Buildings, and being privy to the waterfront plans etc, he obviously sees a very bright future for the city and for Everton.
All this and it's a massive finger gesture to our neighbors!

Three assets, if you include BMD

"Moshiri has also initiated legal action against Liverpool FC, forbidding the use of the Liver bird symbol on Liverpool FC merchandise.[13]"

Liverpool have an office in the building opposite the pig and whistle. It's where they do their business other than at the ground and melwood, or... Mount Doom and Isengard.

Moshiri isn't soft, he's just bought arguably the most iconic building (other than football stadia) in the North West, never mind merseyside. This is where we will do our business now.

People will now see the Liver Buildings and think 'Everton'. In a few years they'll look down the road and be reminded again.

Correct. As someone who's been in both buildings, they're really in a different world to our current set-up.

Anyway, this sums it up:

Sounds a bit small time when they've not been beaten in 8 years ...

Just listening to Esk on the blueroom, he seemed very positive about it and suggested it could ultimately become HQ for all the executive board meets and admin staff.

Wonder what that'll cost the club in annual rent....:coffee:

Taken from twitter but made me laugh.
