Everton FC's Farhad Moshiri BUYS the Royal Liver Building

We will see mate. That Echo article looks like a panicked act from an LFC journalist to me.

Given he's heavily involved in a consortium that now owns the Liverbird and the building I would imagine there are all sorts of options available. As some have suggested it will likely smooth over any potential efforts we have if we wish to use it. Either way, Liverpool FC, the Liverpool Echo and any current copywriter agreement they have will be easily overcome if Farhad wishes too.

That being said, I can see no reason why he would want too (other than churlishness). This is a moneymaking opportunity for him, a chance to put Everton in the centre of the City and connect different powerful groups and interests. I can't imagine Moshiri massively worrying about whether Liverpool can use the Liverbird.

What is significant here is once again the speed he has acted with, this came from left field. Secondly the symbolic purchase this represents for Everton. It also shows the sort of circles he has Everton mixing in. He has a shirt sponsorship with a guy who's several times over richer than Roman A. He now announces buying the prime building of Liverpool alongside a multi billion investment firm. Finally I think it gives an impression of the scale of project and confidence Moshiri has. He wants to overhaul the whole area, massively drive up land value, turn it into an economic hub and place Everton at the centre of this. Great news for the City and the club really.

We don't have the details on this purchase yet, but given how long he was interested in Everton, preforming his due diligence in the background, and purchasing the club when he Moores group failed to reach an agreement, and given how long he's been pursing Bramley Moore (piecing together the information we have available), I read this move as signaling that his plan is well thought out, long term, and expansive. He definitely seems the sort to move in quickly to capture what he wants, but it doesn't appear that his moves are anything but deliberate and well-planned.

Fun Fact Of The Day : Contrary to popular belief, "The Monopoly Man" has never actually been depicted wearing a monocle. It's often used as an example of the "Mandela Effect", a form of mismemory. Any pictures now found of him wearing one are unofficial images.
Another fact of the day, I've never ever completed a game of monopoly without lashing said game across the table and thrashing opponent across the grid with the board.

Thing is - not a gamble really.

Property is one of the safest investments, and he bought it before the anticipated 30% uplift in prices that the stadium will bring. He's essentially guaranteeing his own money increasing by well above inflation and market rates. Genius.

Tell that to the couple of hundred thousand home owners in negative equity in Ireland !

But I get what you're saying. Suppose it confirms his confidence in the city of Liverpool to be more accurate.

God could come and bring @Ernie a pizza, and he'd just complain about the toppings

Him and @Dymak are neck and neck for "most cheerful poster" this season. I think all our eyes will be glued to the run in...

I have it on good authority that Dymak hasn't smiled since the 22nd October 1973, and that was only because there was an especially good edition of Andy Capp that day

Remove the liverbird from there badge and they can replace it with something equally iconic like pot noodle head or that fat mess crying in the crystalbul game maybe the logo of the slip man.
