Thought he got it wrong today should have packed the defense and midfield and tried to hit them on the break. Used lookman with his pace.
He did get it wrong. Every game we lose or do not win is getting it wrong. Its all hindsight. If he could turn the clock back he would know what to do but unfortunately that's impossible. He has to do what he thinks is right without any hindsight and yes he got it wrong this time. Or we could say it was right but the players didn't come up to scratch.

End of season party tonight? 9 points behind them now, no chance of the top 6.
Going into this season did you truly believe we'd even have the opportunity to catch the top six at this stage of the season? I definitely didn't. We've overachieved this season if anything.

Couldn't agree with you more mate hindsight is a wonderful thing but he's supposed to be a master tactician and gets paid more in a week than me and you will see in a lifetime so he's got to get it right more often than not. When you see what other lesser teams have achieved there. You could see after 10 minutes we where being overrun in midfield

Bad tactics..As soon as I saw the team I knew it was going to be another depressing weekend.

Pennington and Holman playing together!! Holman is a defender not a wing back. No surprise that he had a mare.

No winger..how I was pining for Del Boy!!

No Miralles!! the one forward we have who has determination and a bit of mongrel!!

Think that's more down to the personel rather than the tactics. Davies, Holgate, Pennington amongst others didn't cut the mustard today and got caught ball watching more often than not rather than player watching.

Did Ademola and Mason become one in some scientific experiment gone wrong?

to be fair to them they have won that without getting out of 1st gear , our manager is deluded if he thinks that was a performance to be proud of. We only started playing once the result was never in question.

To be fair to him, lot's of people were saying "don't play Barry" and he didn't
Exactly this. He didn't play Barry and we had limited midfield and defensive options today Pennington had to get thrown into the deep en - sure in retrospect it looks bad, but it was worth a roll of the dice to play the way we did. Big picture, the loss of RFM, Schneids, Seamus and J Mac proved to be too much - no reason to throw the young kids under the bus when it was already going to be a monumental task today.

We can still salvage something from the season if we get a result at OT

Whilst the manager undoubtedly made some tactical errors today, let's be level-headed about the abject failure of yet another Everton team to perform at Anfield.

Our passing was poor, our first touch was largely poor, our defending was poor, we lacked passion, commitment, pace and decision making, we lacked (channelled) fight and we simply got things wrong all over the pitch, literally from five minutes into the game.

We gave them far too much space to run into at pace... which we all know terrifies defenders... and we failed woefully to compete effectively in midfield. Our cause wasn't helped by the loss of Seamus Coleman and Morgan Schneiderlin, and even the stupid, unnecessary loss of McCarthy.

Mirallas should have been on from the start, or at least introduced at half time, to give him just nine minutes was sheer folly.
