New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

Loving the fume... Doom, doom, impending doom.

Someone correct me if i'm wrong but i'm pretty sure Everton were probably earning 20 million pounds per year going back to the early 90's. So where do these whoppers get that the council have to pay up if the TV money dries up or Everton get relegated?

Lets see how much Newcastle made in the championship when they release their annual accounts, i bet it's more than enough to cover the loan.

Looking at some historical data Wolves made 32 million when they were promoted from league 1.

Seeing effectively the council have first dibs on the money, the only thing that could happen is we would have to start offloading the expensive wages and play kids.

If we had a 60k stadium and we sell 40k tickets @ £25 it's still a million pound a home game and enough to cover the loan. As long as we don't take anymore debt and live within our income here on in, we will be fine and so will the council.

Not to mention that, God forbid Everton ever get relegated, you get four more home matches per year in the Championship. Plus you still have the same opportunities to host cup ties.

This new stadium will not transform Everton into top dogs overnight. What it will do is give Everton the opportunity to grow rather than being stunted.

That's exactly it. It's an amazing fact after spending hundreds of millions, but New White Hart Lane on its own will propel us from being the 6th richest club in England to being....the 6th richest club in England. lol:Blink: That's how far ahead the others are. But even if that is a depressing fact, a new stadium is desperately needed and will give us a hugely better platform for the future.

A new stadium on its own will probably push you up to seventh, just below us. I'm guessing that ranking is not much further up than you already are. But sometimes you have to run to even give yourselves a chance of keeping up. Crazy really.

Totally agree. There is a generation of Everton and Liverpool fans who have known nothing but Liverpool FC being top dogs in this city. Prior to the the 70s, Everton were top dogs in city for many decades. Things change, they move in cycles. This new stadium will not transform Everton into top dogs overnight. What it will do is give Everton the opportunity to grow rather than being stunted.

The key to all the excitement is the location of the new stadium. The city centre area is going through a transformation which once the Liverpool Waters project is complete, will make Liverpool a major global attraction and goto destination. Everton will benefit for many, many decades to come, just by having a stadium on that famous waterfront. People who visit the city or choose to explore the city will be introduced to Everton FC. Rather than us being tucked away out of sight as we are now, we will be on the main stage. Bramley Moore and Liverpool Waters will become a major visitors attraction, along with Liverpool One, and The Albert Dock now. It all means that Everton FC will grow, regardless of whether someone like Usmanov comes in or not.

Bloody long cycle - basically my entire life and I'm 47! Face it we are miles of them that's nearly 50 years, however all this gives us a chance to compete and be part of a "Big Seven" as opposed to a best of the rest with the likes of West Ham, Southampton etc. That at least gives us hope

Just take pride in the fact that they have only had a better stadium than us since around 1992 and soon at least we will address that situation. ;)

I've give it long and careful consideration, and decided that in 40 years, I'll either be plugged in to the mains or in a jar so not arsed in the slightest how we're getting a spanky new stadium as long as we get one.

I'll only be a few years away from getting a card from the queen...then again, she'll be in her 130's

Wonder if the kopites will have stopped fuming by then? :D
