New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

Bottom line is we're one huge step towards a waterfront stadium, something I never thought I'd see in my lifetime. Whose bothered how we pay for it?

No one will care when we're bouncing down from the city centre along the WATERFRONT to a state of the art stadium whilst the Norwegian tourists are getting the 15 to walk along Breck road with their maps out. This will be an unbelievable strategic move for us, we'll be able to brand half the dock, everything will revolve around our stadium, all the transport, all the walkways, even the ferry terminals ffs. For our Wirral blues imagine getting the ferry over packed full of other blues. The possibilities are endless, sky sports covering night games where we're projecting the Everton crest onto the River Mersey, shining spotlight on Everton branded passenger boats coming over the river, the entire dock front lit up in blue, cruise ship passengers watching the entire thing, getting off their ships buying Everton merchandise, taking stadium tours etc. If we see this through it will be a complete game changer.
I don't understand this attitude at all, we NEED a worldwide fan base not only to fill the stadium, to buy the merchandise etc but also because they come hand in hand with success. If we acquire a large worldwide fan base the. It is great news because it means we are winning.

Ask yourself if anyone who wasn't a NF or Combat18 follower supported Chelsea before Abramovich?

We will own the stadium.

No idea.

If building work starts in early 2018 as planned, we'll be starting the 2020/21 season there.

Yes.

The SPV will own the stadium. We will sub lease it from the SPV.

50k was in the document but this is far from final

No idea

Yes

Ta men.

I feel underwhelmed but not a clue why. Think it's cause tonnes of these of these SPV entities I would see through my work tend to go down the pan!!

See the difference between a billionaire and me and you Smigga is he has many many friends who could lend him substantial funds at whatever rates they decide.

Something about this doesn't sit right with me.

i honestly dont get it, ...

hang on a minute,

maybe its the council holding US to ransom, 'yes you can have the land and the planning, but we want £5m a year for the priviledge' ?? we will have to finance it the way we (the council) decide.

All our worldwide fans will know exactly where our stadium is and can access it easily via any route they want.

But the council are irrelevant in all this Wiz, do you think the planning dept would refuse any plans we put up?

The council don't own the land.

This is obv a VERY complex deal and financial package, being manoeuvred into place by a world class expert in Moshiri.
But just sit back and read the "WHY ARENT WE JUST PAYING IT OURSELVES NOW WERE LOADED ARENT WE?".
We couldn't afford 30m for kings dock. Yet they moan at this. It looks like a series of moves to circumvent high interest payments, allow input from a possible outsider (who isn't technically allowed to), and to circumvent ffp by allowing all matchday income to go to players/wages.
But they just wont understand that. BOOOOOO

The King's dock was over 20 years ago. We didn't have Moshiri to help us secure funding back then.

Everton Football Club as a business was not ever going to be able to secure those loans, either back then or now.

I'm not moaning either, who could moan about this? We're getting a new stadium at the docks, I'm made up! Doesn't mean I'm not interested in the details of the deal behind it, or that the finance deal can't be reviewed separately from the stadium.

You're right that it looks like a series of moves to circumvent high interest payments but you're absolutely speculating that this deal has anything to do with "input from a possible outsider (who isn't technically allowed to). There's nothing suggesting that this is more than LCC helping us secure beneficial interest rates for a very large loan.

I've no idea what you're getting at with the bit about "to circumvent ffp by allowing all matchday income to go to players/wages" because this deal has no impact on that. There's nothing in FFP that requires circumventing to spend the matchday income on players/wages. Losses incurred as a result of infrastructure investment are not calculated as part of FFP loss measurement. Additionally, FFP only considers the amount spent on players in terms of aggregated losses made over a 3-year period, it doesn't even look at wages. Wages are covered by the Premier League's Short Term Cost Control regulations and those rules specifically detail increases in non-broadcast revenue.

Just that little bit to worry about

So, in general, are we all happy with todays new...or just mehh? Personally, it's a big step forward but l still want to see the Mosh with a silver plated shovel (or pneumatic drill) breaking the first ground before l can truly believe.

so what we are saying is that having LCC on board is in no way a factor to get around any FFP implications?

its just a good way of securing a cheaper interest rates and making it more viable for us by having the loan over 40 years instead of say 10 years if the mosh was securing it personally

As far as I am aware, yes.

3) Are clubs no longer allowed to have losses?

To be exact, clubs can spend up to €5million more than they earn per assessment period (three years). However it can exceed this level to a certain limit, if it is entirely covered by a direct contribution/payment from the club owner(s) or a related party. This prevents the build-up of unsustainable debt.

The limits are:
• €45m for assessment periods 2013/14 and 2014/15
• €30m for assessment periods 2015/16, 2016/17 and 2017/18

In order to promote investment in stadiums, training facilities, youth development and women’s football (from 2015), all such costs are excluded from the break-even calculation.
