New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

Yeah? And who puts an offer in on a house if they aren't certain they'll get a mortgage?

You seem to think the club are only now starting to look at funding. Tsk.

Why are Everton leasing the stadium when the club are purchasing the land and paying for the construction?

They haven't the funding to pay for construction upfront so the council are acting as a guarantor for the loan to fund it. We then pay the loan and lease it until 40 yr payment model complete. Fee I understand after 40rs to buy outright is £1 .

As was advised: it's the Grand National, and we're hacking across the Melling Road on the way to the first fence.

Anyone who thought we were further along than that were seriously misled.

So, the agenda seems to be:

  • Vote at full committee meeting at LCC
  • If, as expected, successful, head of terms gone over in detail for a few months in conjunction with EFC consulting 'stakeholders' on design and capacity required to determine costs (vote on it, perhaps?)
  • planning application sought from LCC

At the end of the day looking at what was put out today, affordability, how viable it would be to build on Bramley Moore, this in all reality could still not happen.

Didn't he say that it will seem more real early next year? Or words to that effect?

Think I'll curb my enthusiasm a bit until then. That's just the Everton in me.

Until the spades are in the ground mate, a % will not regard it as real, we've been burnt before - but that was by people without a pot to pee in, who where notorious bs merchants, Moshiri is far removed from those Arthur Dailys

Plans will be in circulation soon like that financing model with the council takes 3 months to go through like and then it's going straight to planning and their hoping the planning clears early 2018

So the council is actually lending Everton the money to fund the stadium and the "lease" is the repayment of that loan?

at the AGM mate only a month or less ago, we where told we where still looking to how to fund it - now that's been done
Peel just the other week said we where talking about the land - the land has now been agreed to give us head of terms - so in effect when we want it the price is sorted, the deal is done (planning permission then owned)

think how fast it has went from those two statements to the issues being resolved, this is now moving VERY fast, be very surprised if their isnt more announcements in the pipeline imminently
People have been misled and had their timelines messed about with. No one surley ever thought this would be bells and whistles and bat lights?

My concern is who could be being left holding the baby here. Who takes most of the risk here and who (ultimately) gets the biggest financial boost from a built stadium. It looks to me like Moshiri is carrying no risk but will get a massive financial reward if/when it's built.
