50k is the most disappointing thing for me. Surely can get more than 10k over Goodison?
Where did 50k come from?

exactly this, its a money making vehicle for fat joe and MoshiriWhy are Everton leasing the stadium when the club are purchasing the land and paying for the construction?
The council are not lending us any money at allNo No No what mate?
That's where I'm at, but from what @jinkyali says the council are securing the loan for us as a guarantor to give us access to cheaper financing (lower interest) than we would receive by trying to secure finance on our own. They must have some fantastic lending relationships if the difference in interest rates makes it worthwhile to pay out the council 4 million quid a year for acting as the guarantor.Im confused here:
A report will be presented to the council’s cabinet next Friday (31 March) recommending that the City Council progress Heads of Terms to create a new Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) company which will take a lease of the stadium from a funder and, in turn, sub-lease it to the Club.
The recommendation being presented to the council’s cabinet follows months of talks between the Club and the local authority and following advice from independent financial and legal experts who have reviewed Everton’s “robust business case”.
Under the proposed finance structure of the SPV the council will not provide any finance for the new stadium, which is anticipated to cost in excess of £300m and will be fully funded by the Club.
What are the council funding? what are we funding? who owns what? and what is the liability?
This is how modern Britain works. You have to pay the authorities for "permission". You know, like a mafia protection racket, but we call them a council, or a government, not mafia. Why are Everton leasing the stadium when the club are purchasing the land and paying for the construction?
I dont know why mate. I was fuming that we were not hearing from Everton at all (as per throughout this saga), then I was content that we would be hearing from the club (and we have). So are you old Dave again, or still the new shiny one?
Confused the life out of me this afternoon.
at the AGM mate only a month or less ago, we where told we where still looking to how to fund it - now that's been done
Peel just the other week said we where talking about the land - the land has now been agreed to give us head of terms - so in effect when we want it the price is sorted, the deal is done (planning permission then owned)
think how fast it has went from those two statements to the issues being resolved, this is now moving VERY fast, be very surprised if their isnt more announcements in the pipeline imminently
thisHaha, nothing. Summer all over.

So the council is lending us the money and we're paying them back with an annual payment?
They don't mention this on the OS article as far as I can see.
Think so mate.We find the funding the council act as guarantor for a fee, so it's like giving you da a few quid for going guarantor while you take an amigo loan out.
Is that right????

Will do. I'm stuck in work for a few more torturous hours yet and it won't play any media for me.Listen to Joe Anderson's interview
