What are the council funding? what are we funding? who owns what? and what is the liability?

That's where I'm at, but from what @jinkyali says the council are securing the loan for us as a guarantor to give us access to cheaper financing (lower interest) than we would receive by trying to secure finance on our own. They must have some fantastic lending relationships if the difference in interest rates makes it worthwhile to pay out the council 4 million quid a year for acting as the guarantor.

This is how modern Britain works. You have to pay the authorities for "permission". You know, like a mafia protection racket, but we call them a council, or a government,not mafia.

Confused the life out of me this afternoon.

I dont know why mate. I was fuming that we were not hearing from Everton at all (as per throughout this saga), then I was content that we would be hearing from the club (and we have).

Peel just the other week said we where talking about the land - the land has now been agreed to give us head of terms - so in effect when we want it the price is sorted, the deal is done (planning permission then owned)

think how fast it has went from those two statements to the issues being resolved, this is now moving VERY fast, be very surprised if their isnt more announcements in the pipeline imminently

Didn't he say that it will seem more real early next year? Or words to that effect?

Think I'll curb my enthusiasm a bit until then. That's just the Everton in me.

So the council have facilitated the funding through a relatively cheap loan, the council are guarentor and get 4 million or so a year for enabling it. I also believe the planning side is well into the concept stage and from the end of this year things will move at a pace.
