i used to absorb more of what went on when i sat in the top balc, as in not get lost in it, prob cos it lacked atmos and it is good for observing up there.
Well that could be true, but I very rarely get lost in the moment unless it's a Rodwell Man U incident where I still have bruises from flying over seats.
Generally I don't sing, I don't celebrate wildly anymore (unless its a match winner), not too bothered about the atmosphere, i'm watching the game and the movement of the players. Trying to study it more these days.
I watch other teams and I count how many players they can pass to, and which players are passing and then moving into position. Then I watch Everton and look for the same kind of movement, options, intelligence etc...
Sometimes I'll be wrong and I'll say it, but all my opinions are based around honest assessment, or as much assessment as I can muster. Like today for example I only heard the game, didn't see it. So I have to take the commentators word for it - and it came across like how have we not won this game.
Thing is, I believed we could beat City, Chelsea and Man U. Felt we had the team for it. Today we should have beat Wolves, we have the team for it, but I didn't believe we could beat them. So why is that?
I honestly believe they are afraid to be successful, and this has been drenched through the club since the early 90s. Liverpool have not won the league in almost 2 decades, yet they are still seen as one of the sides in the running each year, and they haven't really had that good a team in all that time.
Belief, it's all about the belief.
If we took a straw poll on whether the fans believed we could win the league again in their lifetime and I reckon most would say probably not.
