The sense of euphoria about the team at this stage of that first Martinez season was, if anything, more palpable then than it is now.

Back then we were right in the thick of the CL placings battle, not clinging on to the coattails of the 6th place team and hoping one of the three teams above us does a Devon Loch...... and a seven game winning streak had us all giddy at the thoughts of where we would be come season's end.

Reddit reckons Sampaoli is the favourite, or whoever that is. Possibly Laurent Blanc second favourite with Koeman as the outsider

it's gonna be Sampaoli or Valverde I reckon. Not a single person I know here in months of speculation has mentioned Koeman. I don't think he is on the radar at all.
