John Hampshire, Yorkshire and England cricketer. First English player to score a century on his debut. When retired became an umpire for 21 years.
I remember him as a player and an umpire, this makes me feel old. RIP.
...and me. Hampshire was 76.
...ex-Celtic footballer, Tommy Gemmell has died aged 73. A member of the famous Lisbon Lions, I can distinctly remember watching that European Cup win.
