This is a different formation from the 3-5-2 and it has to be a bit of a challenge to make the step up, learn the new formation, and have an impact on the game.

His touch got away from him a bit today but he was still looking better than Valencia when he came on.

Though he got walloped just before it tbh. Not that it excuses bad tackles.

Don't think he will start again for a while, think he will do what we done with Davies and Holgate, and what I actually thought we would do with Lookman originally and introduce him slowly and protect him a bit. He looks a bit lost between attacking and then helping Baines out. Definitely going to be a quality player, and it it's building experience for him.

You can't expect him to play like Messi every game without fail - he's a very raw talent, only 19 and a couple of months ago was plying his trade in League 1. One for the future but should keep getting regular game time to aid his development. Thank god he's not a local lad or he'd end up with the same treatment Ross has had to endure for the past few years. He's only going to get better.

He don't think he's shown enough in any game to be in the first team. No slight on him. He's young and just arrived.

The lad came in for a bit of rough treatment today , not at his sparkling best but coped quite well . He'll be fine , would have scored a quality goal too only for Pickfords knees.

The lad was ineffective today but he is only 18/19 and wet behind the ears in prem terms so it's expected that he will have dips in form. He'll bounce back!

Spot on.

The lad plainly has talent, but he ain't going to turn it on every game, he'll likely do better against the better teams rather than those parking the bus anyway.

Wasn't at the races today - but then almost every winger will struggle when they're pitted against a bunch of big tough grocks like John O'Shea and Kone.

Maybe against a side like Liverpool he'd perform much better.

Wingers have good days and bad ones..If Lookman has a run of bad form the only alternative
is Miralles.

The Del Boy Milan loan looks a bad deal to me.

I thought that his head went down and became frustrated when his first couple of turns didn't come off.
It can only be a good thing that he is getting game time and hopefully he will come to terms with the Prem and come back stronger next term.
