They have one class player in Coutinho yet a fan base expecting titles and European cups every season. Poisoned chalice. So this is either a sop to massage their egos (and therefore it's nonsense) - to be further fed by Klopp telling them all he's staying though it would be particularly delicious if he reneged on a promise - or they are about to lose the one thing keeping them in contention.

I disagree, he's a German Brendan Rodgers, always has been. And as for Coutinho, he has a good game 1 in 5. Mane is their only vaguely decent player.

I agree. It will be a hell of a job getting them top four. There's nothing there beyond Coutinho and Mane - with perhaps Lallana and Firmino throwing in a handful of decent performances. If he can get them back to the overall energetic effort of the autumn then I think - with Euro responsibilities kicking in again for competitors - they might just hold on to a top four spot.

No team choc full of mediocrity/rubbish like Henderson, Can, Milner, Moreno, Lovren, Sturridge, Lucas, Mignolet has a right to expect a CL spot.

They may have cost a few quid but that isn't Klopp's doing and it's no reflection on him if they fall short with those players.

I wonder what the reaction in the Liverpool corridors of power is to Moshiri etc. and rumours of the new stadium? They seem to have brainwashed the fan base into accepting not competing with United City Chelsea but there would be no rest for them if we started consistently out performing or outspending them.
