IF it happens ( and that's a big if as I find the words "good things" "happen" to "Everton" hard to put into a sentence ) what a fantastic day it will be for all of us Evertonians young and old.

Hopefully this will be the motion that finally triggers our ascent back to the top, a place we haven't been to for such a long time.

I don't expect us to win trophies and titles but I sure as hell believe we should be challenging for them because we are Everton Football Club.

unfortunately 25 years of sod all tells me otherwise hence I'd just like to see us in a position of challenging again. At the start of every season I have always expected us to challenge for every trophy and the league and unfortunately that doesn't happen. For the first time in a long time I'd like to be going into a season where we look a real threat and look like we mean business.

The history of English football shows that when we have the resources to compete at the top level we have been successful. Some of the best players in football history (Dean, Ball, Southall) have played for us. If we can get back to competing with the so called super six again, why can't we be successful again? Even after all these years in the wilderness we have more titles than three of those teams above us.
